This dentist is a joke. I got a referral to him by another dentist to have two of my son's teeth pulled. X-rays had already been taken and everything. This guy, instead of doing what he was supposed to do tells me that he needs to do a consultation first (which was never mentioned on the phone), then proceeds to look at my son's teeth. Pokes around for a few seconds, then tries to give me a long list of all of the work that my son apparently "needs". I told him, no. I came here for these two teeth only. I don't know what he couldn't get through his head, but I ended up leaving with no work being done. About a month later I received a 30 past due bill for the "exam". Then the DAY AFTER received the first bill. I don't know what is going on over there, but I DON'T recommend this dentist to anyone.

My Experience: Children's / Pediatric Dentistry

Duration: almost an hour

Unfair! In contract before cleaning? Yes. After cleaning-NO! Called them to check if my new dent insur is in contract with them. The answer was "yes we are. would you like to schedule an appt?" We did for 2 sons. It's been 6 months since that time. I spent hours with phone and fax. And they are going to send it to Collection. First of all they are NOT in contract with my insurance. How come?!! They say staff knows they are not in contract. So, how come they told me over the phone that they are? They didn't point when we got our sons to the office either. They couldn't find a payment from insurance for 1 of my sons. After fax with pmt confirmation they "found it". Now they got $140 from insur but still want $150 from us. Even though I tried to explain it's not MY fault and error was from THEM, they want balance from me. They give a discount of $25 for each. I don't print money. If I knew we are to pay $100 in addition to $140 paid by insurance - we have other dentists. Cleaning is easy and short procedure for children. It's unfair. Not my fault.

My son has been seeing Dr Pollina for three years now. He is a very gentle, patient, knowledgeable doctor. He respects my son and is able to explain the treatment to him at his level instead of speaking over him. His staff is very accomodating and respectful. I feel that his recommendations have always been right on. I would highly recommend this dentist.

My daughter has autism, and does not speak. It is extremely difficult for us to bring her in to any health professional, because she associates it with shots and screams the whole time. Dr. Pollina is very patient with her and has successfully treated her teeth. He also has been helpful in suggesting proactive measures to reduce cavities. He offers complete sedation for some of her treatments. We are completely satisfied and would reccommend him as a dentist to anyone with a special needs child.

Couldn't ask for a better overall experience my daughter has been going since she was 16 mos. and she is now 5. She has no fear of going and even enjoys it.
