Dr Varanelli is the best cosmetic dentist in Virginia! He made a crown for a Implant Front Tooth that is beautiful. Easy as 1 2 3 for him. He personally answered my concerns and has my full respect as a dentist.

I'm a retired Dental Hygienist that has been a patient of Dr Varanelli for several years. Recently, he changed the Hygiene (cleaning) protocol to something that is substandard and possibly illegal. He is allowing untrained assistants to do the work a registered Dental Hygienist should be doing. The last two times I went to a cleaning appt, I had to return home and finish cleaning my own teeth. No stains were removed, and the assistant doing the polishing never even picked up a mirror to see what she was even doing. The BW xrays were over lapped, no way he could see interproximal decay, but he did not retake them. I have had insurance problems almost every time I have been there. I finally decided to leave this practice and find a Dentist that cares more about their patient's care than money. And yes, he has been reprimanded by 2 Dental Boards in 2 different states over the years. That is public information.

About Hygienist: I came home and finished my cleaning myself. Regardless of Dr Varanelli not allowing the Hygienist to do her job, it's still her responsibility and duty as a Professional.

Dr Varanelli and his wife are breaking the law in many ways. As an ex employee I am not here because I am bitter or angry. I left the practice because of the OSHA laws being ignored, insurance fraud that was occurring, the over-charges, and the amount of accounts that had credits on them without the patients knowledge. MANY of you (Patients) have credits on your account where insurance paid more than expected and Mary (Dr Varanelli's Wife) made bogus account adjustments to balance the account out to zero. There is also the issue of her charging patients for exams (which ONLY a licensed dentist can perform) while Dr Varanelli was on vacation. During the July 4th week of 2012. Many of you may not even have noticed,but you never recieved an exam and you OR insurance were billed Check your statements from your insurance companies in reference to rendered treatment and insurance payments. Add up what you paid along with the insurance. Check your account statements, CAREFULLY! The dental work is OK..not great but not the worst Ive seen. The office is not sterilizing everything the way they should, However, Dr's Wife is stealing you blind as well as the insurance companies. The authorities have been notified...good luck to all.

Moved to the area and switched to him as my dentist. On my first visit he told me I needed multiple fillings, which I thought was suspicious since I take very good care of my teeth. They have been hurting me ever since I got them, and the other day when I was eating, one of the teeth he did literally split in half. AND I found out later he over charged me. Probably the worst dentist ever in my opinion.

Dr. Frank Varanelli is new to the Winchester, Va office. He has treated myself as well as my 20 year old daughter, and my 15 year old son. Fabulous office and what a great office staff.
