Great Doc. Afraid of dentists from my childhood episodes. Dr. Eckersly has been very gentle and thourough. I don't go often enough because of my phobias. Never get chewed out just get great care at reasonable price. Thanks Doctor

About Front Desk: again great

About Hygienist: just like the rest of the practice. great

Never go to this dentist. This man pulled my daughter's teeth without numbing her. 4 molars were pulled, with roots, and she cried through the entire thing. She passed out due to the pain several times. After sending the teeth to the dental board, they concluded that the teeth should have never been pulled, but rather surgically removed. don't take anyone you love to this dentist.

When my insurance changed, I went to their recommended dentist, a chain, and they gave me an estimate for more than 6,000 dollars; in shock, I took their estimate to Dr. Eckersley, who said I definitely needed about 1/3 of their request. Since then I have never let anyone touch my teeth but Dr. E and I am very satisfied, Minimal pain, maximum concern with the patient, just a wonderful man to have for a dentist. I would recommend him to any and all, even if you're far away, he's worth the drive.

I went to Dr. Eckersley from another dentist that I had used years ago in Fort Worth whom I felt harassed me because I could not afford x-rays. The other doctor did not want to clean my teeth unless I paid for x-rays. Well, if you have the money, that is great, but if you do not, you should still be able to get your teeth cleaned. Dr. Eckersley, like my previous dentist in Richardson, was okay with cleaning my teeth even though I could not afford the x-rays at the time. The office is not particularly fancy, but it is clean and comfortable enough. The staff are business-like. Another thing I like about this office is that I am not asked unnecessary questions. I am only asked medically necessary questions. I go in, and they do the job without a lot of unncessary chit-chat. The fees are middle of the road. The other dentist I saw in Fort Worth charged significantly more for the same bi-annual cleaning. Dr. Eckersley charged $175 this last visit for cleaning and x-rays, including one extra x-ray of a a tooth that had been bothering me. The office is not the highest tech--they still do not have email--but they are not difficult to reach by phone, and the office is quite easily accessible on S. Hulen and Wellesley.

About Hygienist: All of my life, the quality of the hygienist is the main reason I continue to see a particular dentist, as 99% of the time, I never require more than my bi-annual cleaning. Lisa, the old hygienist, has retired to mommyhood. She was quite good. The one there now is okay. Nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about. She seems well intentioned, friendly, etc. All in all, I cannot complain about this office and would recommend it to anyone who wants good basic, middle of the road cost-wise dental care in a reasonably clean, comfortable, quiet, and accessible office. The people here are not pretentious, unlike some of the other offices I have been to nearby. They seems to undestand that not everyone has unlimited resources, but everyone does want to be treated with dignity and respect.

I first went to him from another dentist who wanted to do thousands of dollars worth of work on problems that I MIGHT have in the future, with recovery time over 6 weeks; Dr. Eck did what was needed and no more, he is very conservative; later I tried a dentist at one recommended by our new insurance company, they did the same thing; I am back at Dr. Eck and happy to pay for his unparalleled service.
