I had to get my wisdom tooth removed and this is the first extraction for me. Obviously I was very nervous until I met the doctor...As soon as we met Dr. Karakourtis I felt totally comfortable. He kept cracking jokes and kept me busy thinking, throughout the procedure...so that I dont feel the pain. He explained everything very well, the options, complications, etc. He waited to answer all our questions and his attitude is VERY good. He promised to get us out of the clinic by 4pm and I was sitting in the chair waiting for the extraction at 3:45pm..wondering how he will keep up his promise. But he came and everything took just 3 minutes...He took the tooth out in full piece with all the three spread out roots...He is really an expert...

About Front Desk: Front desk staff was very friendly, professional, patiently answered everything, explained the bill in detail - before the procedure. For me, insurance is expected to pay most of it. But they even showed that portion to me so that I dont have any surprises.

Paid in advance $484 for 2 extractions, at the follow-up exam was told I owed another $254 for a procedure I wasn't told about or even knew it had been done, a surgical drainage cut? They knew I didn't have good insurance and I should have been notified they were going to do something not covered by my insurance. Just wierd I wasn't even aware of such a procedure!

Dr. Karakourtis took out my son's wisdom teeth and everything went very smoothly. His staff is great, his appointments are on time and he has a great sense of humor. My daughter is scheduled for wisdom teeth removal in January.

I chose Dr Karakourtis because of the earlier reviews posted on this site. Their descriptions were right on target. I had to have a broken tooth extracted, and Dr K, his administrative staff, and medical staff were all extremely reassuring, and encouraging. The procedure was absolutely painless, and successful. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr K and his practice to anyone. I cannot comment on cost, since my insurance coverd 100% of the procedure.

I've known Dr. K as a nurse at one of the hospitals he visits from time to time. I was so impressed with his devotion to patient care, that when the time came for me to find an oral surgeon, he was the first one I went to. This guy is a nice and friendly as it gets. Down to the core, this guy is compassionate, friendly, COMPETENT and just an overall great oral surgeon. Not only do I trust his judgement and clinical skill, but he's just generally nice to have around. The nurses at the hospital love him - and that says a LOT!

Dr. Karakourtis is a very nice and understanding man to almost anyone. He explained to me how everthing was going to be done with my four wisdom teeth that had to be pulled out immediatley because they were growing in the wrong direction and started hurting my mouth. He said that it was very common for a teenager to go through this stage with her teeth this young at first. When the surgery was over I wrote him a thankyou card for the outstanding job he did with the wisdom teeth. He understood my concerns at first and told me that there were no worries to the surgery and made sure of that. Thanks Dr. Karakourtis for everything you have done for me! Keep up the good work. Sincerely Lauren Elliott

Dr Karakourtis worked on my dislocated jaw and fractures around my mouth. He is one of the nicest and most understanding doctor that I dealt with in my recovery from multiple injuries. His staff is equally as nice, helpful and very understanding. I highly recommend his services. There are very few Doctors like him.

Dr K was recommended by my dentist to have my wisdom teeth pulled. He's relaxing and explains everything about the procedure and what risks are possible. I received very down to earth explanations of care. His office is clean with new equipment. I had to take a second set of xrays from the first i had had made at my dentist's office because they were not clear. Dr K's xrays were extremely clear as he showed me where he would be working and what he could read from the xray. There were two major worries i had about having my teeth pulled. The first was that they were set back in my jaw line far enough that a piece of the bone would have to be removed. The second was that the roots of my teeth went down to/past the nerve. Dr K's credentials helped reassure me that I had chosen the best possible doctor for the surgery. I came off of the anesthesia quite well. My jaw was numb for about 24-36 hours, most likely due to the nerve that runs through it being numb still. This concern went away quickly, even though I was warned it could be like that for up to two weeks in extreme cases. The pain was almost non existant. One side had no pain, the other was about as much as a headache. I always recommend him to friends. Great work
