Dr. Woelfle is a delight. He is a thorough professional, he stays current with the latest procedures and treatments, and has an incredibly soft touch. I am very happy to have selected him (it was by chance, and when he was at a different practice in the embarcadero). With his own practice now, he has hand-picked his team -- my wife and son also go to his office.

About Hygienist: Gentle, soft touch -- and teeth feel great - I go 4 times per year!

Dr. Woelfle's staff are extremely nice. The doctor himself is nice and knowledgeable; however, he tends to spend little time with patients, leaving most of the care to his staff. Overall, my experience has been positive, athough on one occasion a hygenist gave me inappropriate instructions for taking an antibiotic, which caused the oral infection to worsen.

I've been using Dr. Woelfle for almost 10 years. His hygenist is simply the best I have ever encountered. I have never been stressed or in pain, though I have gone through numerous major procedures. His personal attention and personable manner make him easy to work with. I have had dentists affiliated with some of the top dental schools in the country, and Dr. Woelfle is by far the best. He is the one I continue to return to.

Very unprofessional staff. Typically when I sit down in the chair, there are other patient's records on the screen. Not much privacy in the office. Dr. Woelfle may come across as Guy Smiley but his work isn't very good. He insisted on replacing every filling in my mouth and I have never been the same. My bite is off, and I now have pain and sensitivity. He tells me I need more fillings and cosmetic work and I don't believe him. Then I was overbilled and not told what services would be covered by my insurance.

We recently went back to Dr. Woelfle's office after having moved out of San Francisco and now returned. His staff was friendly and kind, even remembering me and asking about my children. They saw me on an urgent basis for a toothache and couldn't have been more responsive. I have, unfortunately, seen a few different dentists in recent years only to have them try to sell me various extra services including teeth whitening and I have some quite white teeth already.

This dentist is horrible. Do not go to Dr. Woelfle. Approximately two and 1/2 years ago I went for a check up at his office when he was located at the Embarcadero Center. As soon as he took my x-rays, he said that I need a root canal. The tooth that he said needed the root canal was not bothering me at all. However, I was foolish and did not get a second opinion. I went through with the procedure and it was an awful experience. I sat through the whole procedure in pain. At one point, tears began to flow because of the pain, however Dr. Woelfle did nothing but stopped for a few minutes and then continued. He said to me that once you start a root canal, you can not stop midway. It was very painful. I never returned to his office after the horrible and frightening experience. The worse part is he doesn't explain anything to you, which makes the patient even more nervous. I regret never getting a second opinion. In this day and age and in the Bay Area, there plenty of other dentists out there who are more informative, gental and offer painless procedures. Avoid Dr. Woelfle!

I've been seeing Dr. Woelfle for more than 13 years. He's excellent. He works with me to make sure that I take care of my teeth. It's a pleasure coming in for my regular check-ups and to get my teeth cleaned. He has a friendly and professional demeanor and always makes me feel comfortable. Hygienists Bernadette and Eisele are also very pleasant; it's fun to visit with them! And Anna takes care of my records and works to fit my appointments into what's convenient for my schedule. Dr. Woelfle recently opened a brand new office full of the cutting edge dental technology that I like. But it's the service that I come back for.

Dr. Woelfle and his staff are very personable, knowledgeable and efficient. I've been his patient for 10 years and NOT once have I been dissatisfied. I highly recommend his services at his new location at 556 Battery Street, S.F., CA.
