This orthodontist is the WORST. He treated my daughter for three years and her teeth got worse and worse. He kept making excuses for her lack of progress, and offering to get more devices, charging us more and more. The office staff was rude and Dr. Bythewood's manner was arrogant and uncaring, both to my daughter and to myself. We only stuck around because we kept hoping that he would finally finish the job. We finally got disgusted and went to another orthodontist who has done more in 6 months than Dr. Bythewood did in 3 years. STAY AWAY! A complete waste of our time not to mention the $6500 we paid. A complete incompetent crook.

Terrible practice. I was miss quoted price for orthodontic treatment due to staff error. Unable to experience the treatment with my child because I was not allowed to observe adjustments due to lack of space in the office. Had to constantly ask how progress is going. Paid for a permanent retainer which fell out within hours of instillation. Dr. accused my daughter of chewing gum as to the reason why it came out. Had removal retainer ordered and have yet to receive it after my daughter had her braces removed over 1 month ago. Her teeth must have shifted by this. Was told they will let me know when it arrives called today and miraculously it arrived today and was told "they called me". When asked which number they called once again it was the wrong number.
About Front Desk: Poor lack customer service skills. They do not seem to like their jobs. Input my phone number wrong computer and when I informed them that it was wrong they said they changed it and did not.

Beware. When you think that you are about to have your braces off you are then told that you owe a this outrageous amount of money for materials that was already paid for. If you are only able to make payments, then at the end of making those payments it seems like they penalize you by telling you that the price went up on something that was already paid for so now they expects you to pay the difference. It makes no sence to me but it makes sence to them. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would encourage everyone to run and find another orthodontist. Find an orthodontist who tells you a price and sticks with it. Someone who is more consistent. This orthodontist does not even think for himself or even let his office manager or front desk person do their job. He has some other girl who works in the back with him do his thinking. So frustrating.

A nightmare! Pay out of pocket elsewhere if you must because you will end up doing so later. The staff is rude and the wait is forever. After four years of braces we are left with an off-center, slanted mouth. Legal fees would be astronomical. We are seeing another dds to start over. We never missed one appointment and directions (rubberband usage) was followed to a tee. Yet after 3 years Bythewood wanted to charge more money because it was taking too long! he suddenly took the braces off and said she was done! Please go elsewhere.

I'm grateful to Dr.Bythewood for my smile. Dr.Bythewood has been my orthodontist for over 16 years. I started going to Dr.Bythewood when I was 16 years, with my horrible overbite and needing much ortho care. At the age of 31, I'm still a patient and loving my smile!!! I continue to go for my six month routine check ups. Thank you Dr.Bythewood and the assistants in the office.

terrible orthodontist. If u have 2 hours to wait everytime you come to a terrible orthodontist, then this is for you! especially if you like an unorganized doctor who doesn't know what's going on!

Low-ball pricing up front, which escalates from add-ons as brace treatment progresses.
Minimum 2 hour wait EVERY TIME for monthly appointments. Upon arrival the child is immediately called from the waiting room only to be sat in another waiting room full of other kids. After 2 hours, the staff finally does a quick checkup and then sends him on his way. Meanwhile the parent sits in the outer waiting room for 2 hours thinking the child is being "worked on" all this time.
About Front Desk: They still owe us over $700. They kept making us pay up front without submitting claims to the insurance company. After harassing them for months they finally submitted some claims, but have not passed any of the insurance payments back to us yet. Desk staff was polite and courteous, just not reactive. Office manager was pushy about upgrading from standard retainer to plastic retainer for additional $900.
