I made the mistake of taking my children here, and I have always regretted it. It was a bad experience that has taken my kids a long time to get over. I have never before (or since) encountered such a condescending health care "professional." He always seemed to be inconvenienced by questions or parental involvement. At one point, he actually turned his back on me when I asked a question. I left and never went back and am happy I did not. There are some wonderful children's dentists out there. Go to them. It makes all the difference in the world!

I had Dr. Laston as a child and to this day I hate the dentist. I attribute it entirely to him.
At one point, I yelled out in pain and he covered my nose and mouth with his hand. I thought I was going to suffocate to death.
He is not fit to practice pediatric medicine.

I took my three year old to see Dr. Laston for his first-time-ever dentist appointment. The staff was very friendly and made my soon feel at ease. Dr. Laston was fast. My soon was very nervous and hesitant and Dr. Laston tailored the appointment to my son's comfort level. After the check-up my son was given toys, dental floss, a toothbrush, stickers and a balloon. This really won him over and made him excited to go back again.

My daughter had several terrible experiences with OTHER dentists before coming to see Dr.Laston. I was being told that she would have to be sedated. However Dr. Laston and staff was wonderful. I highly recommened them.

Dr. Laston's chair side manner is condescending at best. He absolutely insisted that my child be on valium and nitrous gas even though he has never needed those things previously. He does not have anxiety at the dentist. I could not get a straight answer as to what teeth needed cavities to be filled (could NOT get a treatment plan). I got no receipt of the work that was done other than a debit receipt for my deductible. -and I was told I would just be billed for the rest and who knows how much that would be!?!? He did not use the numbing gel on my child's gums so he was absolutely aware of the novacaine shot and said it hurt. Finally, he filled his tooth with a white resin filling without asking me or asking what my plan would cover. In fact, he never initiated any conversation with me at all and everytime I asked him something it was like (excuse the pun) but PULLING TEETH. This is not what you are looking for in a pediatric dentist if you would like your child to have a positive experience. Dr. Laston does not request any sort of parent involvement in the procedures (even first time exams and cleanings) and instead acts as though it is a burden to have you there.
