My daughter had several terrible experiences with OTHER dentists before coming to see Dr.Lopez. I was being told that she would have to be either restrained on a Papus board or drugged to have her dental work completed. Dr. Lopez and her assistant were so kind, gentle, calm, patient and understanding that they have no problem working on my daughter with only minimal drugs (light nitrous oxide and numbing medicine). She doesn't fear going to ther dentist any more.
While the office and waiting room are plain and simple, the care that we receive is excellent. They take my dental insurance (VSP). There is no additional charge if nitrous is needed (other offices in Berkeley charge as much as $50). The whole office is geared towards working with children and most of them have children of their own. The prizes and helium baloons almost make the experience feel like we went for a special day out.
