Read Reviews for Dr. Robert Harmon
When I was about 8 or 9 (1990 or so). Dr Harmon was my dentist. I had my first 2 cavities and being a little kid, I was super scared. I was crying, and what's a great way to calm yourself while crying? Deep breaths. Except, instead of offering calming techniques, he berated me and yelled at me to breathe through my nose (for the calming gas). When my mom came back to try to calm me, he told me that I could either stop crying or leave with my mom. And was still yelling at me while I was trying to calm myself (I could have easily breathed through my nose had I been given a chance to take some calming deep breaths). I don't have many regrets in life, one though is not walking out after that comment. I really hope his bedside manner improved over the last 35 years.

I use to go to his Antioch office when I was a child and this man is mean. I to this day freak out when I have to go to the dentisht because of the way he treated me... He would literaly bang his fist on the chair behind my head when I wouldnt open my mouth wide enough .. he should not a pediatric dentist ... do not let your children go into his office without you

Both of my children went to Pediatrict Dentistry of Pleasant Hill for over seven years. Robert, and his daughter, Amybeth, are both excellent childhood dentists. The atmosphere is cordial and completely non-stressful, and neither of my kids, who are now teens, has ever had the least bit of anxiety or reluctance to do their dental visits. Too bad they don't have a facility for adults!

My kids love to go here for their dental care. Very kid friendly environment. The doctors are wonderful and gentle as are the hygentists. They are really good about explaining what they are doing to each child. It's a great place for young children for their first dental appointment but also caters to the older kids. They make the dentist not so scary!

I took my 2 year old here for her first visit. She was very nervous. Dr. Harmon was inpatient with her becuase she did not want to cooperate. He tried a couple of times to look into her mouth. She was just crying. He did not even try to comfort her. She just shrugged and gave up. He mumbled something to me and left the room. I waited a few minutes while comforting my child. Then a hygenist came in and I asked if we were done. She said no, that she was going to clean my daughters teeth. The hygenist was more gentle and talked soft to my daughter and explained what was going on. She was able to get into my daughter's mouth and brush her teeth. She did not push for anything more and I thought that was good. The hygenist was fine but my experience with Dr. Harmon was awful. The front desk was friendly. Insurance billing went smoothly.
