Dr. Barnes and her staff are very professional. My child has never had a bad experience. I would recommend Dr. Barnes.

I took my eight year old daughter to Dr. Barnes and she recommended giving her gas to perform a procedure. My child was against this as she didn't like the way it made her feel and she was quite verbal about it. This doctor yelled angrily, "Shut up!" to my child (using her name), telling me that children don't make decisions in her office. This happened in the receptionist/waiting area in front of her staff. I didn't say anything and I regretted it then, but I was taken aback as I've never had anything like this to happen in a doctor's office. This doctor also tried to discuss my child's private information in the waiting area with other patients present. Has she not heard of the Privacy Act? I velt very disrespected by her. I took my daughter to Dr. Reginald Baker who treated my child like royalty, addressed her fears and talked to her throughout the entire procedue. He also performed the procedure with a simple shot of novacaine. She is no longer afraid of going to the dentist. I would choose Dr. Baker 100% over this doctor anytime. I don't regret not addressing Dr. Barnes for yelling at my child as I feel vindicated that I can share this experience with others to let them know what kind of professional she is.

My kids are 11 and 12 years old, and have gone to Dr. Barnes since they had teeth. She is excellent with kids (and with parents). I recently had a change in insurance and am forced to change dentists (because I can't afford to come out-of-pocket), and the decision to leave has been quite stressful.
I can't imagine that there is a more talented, knowledgeable and customer-friendly pediatric dentist in Chicago.
