Don't know exactly how to respond to the reviewer except to write a review myself. I do not know how she could have come away with her misunderstanding, and apologize for any part we may have had in that. A misunderstanding, however, is what she has. I've cared for children for many, many years, and not once, ever, have I denied care to a child simply because they had Medical Assistance. If a patient is in their late teens and experiencing adult type dental problems, then I suggest that they seek care in an adult dental office. It is in their best interest, at this stage of their life, to establish a long term dental home, and their needs are likely to be better server there.

I have not had the PRIVILEGE of even MEETING Dr. Carroll. I have not so much as stepped foot in the door, but I believe my "experience" should be shared just the same. CLEARLY, I cannot rate anything other than what my comments refer to... there was no way to NOT rate tho - please ignore those scores. Please see below.

About Front Desk: 1) THIS is info found on Dr. Carroll's website! GENERAL TOPICS & FAQ What Is A Pediatric Dentist? The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with their behavior, guiding their dental growth and development, and helping them avoid future dental problems. The pediatric dentist is best qualified to meet these needs. __________________________________ What I read here ["through the teenage years"] is that this office clearly sees 16 year olds! Sigh - While the receptionist was not blatantly RUDE, the following left me with a bit of a sand in my craw! I was asked the age of my children. I said one child, age 16 and indicated our insurance provider (state) at which point I was asked a handful of apparently irrelevant questions and advised to seek an "adult" dentist supposedly because as a 16 yr old who had not already been a patient of this office, it would just be better. I wasn't born yesterday. No other questions would have been necessary then. I then asked if this office was ACCEPTING new U-CARE patients and was told no. This should have been the FIRST WORDS out of her mouth: "Sorry, we are not currently accepting new U-Care patients!!!! I call BOI de VACHE! Very disappointed. Do you KNOW how impossible it is to find a decent dentist for a poor family!!!??? :( I'm just beside myself. Leave us the ones who are rated POORLY for their work. Thanks!
