I walked into Dr. Marvin Lagstein's office to get a consultation for Invisalign. I was completely closed to the idea of getting braces. Somehow, they convinced me to get Fast Braces and I left that day with brackets on my teeth. I was told that I would be getting the braces off within 7 to 8 months. It was actually 11 months before they came off. I wore my rubber bands all day every day just like they asked. The last month or two was basically him doing trial and error adjustments every week or two trying to find a way to place the bracket so that my teeth would move to the desired position. I wanted the braces off so bad and was moving states very soon so I finally said I was satisfied with the straightness of my teeth (at month 11) and they took them off. I feel like my front four teeth are not perfectly straight, and at a $5,700 price tag to me this is unacceptable. They shave your teeth so they move faster, but now my teeth are extremely sensitive and I've never had problems with this before. These people are more interested in making the sale.

Dr. Marvin Lagstein has a horrible practice they are all rude. They pretend to be nice to get your business, but they are nothing but shady salesman who have a hard time returning your money. After I told them I no longer think I will be able to begin the process they refused to give me back my deposit saying it was non-refundable and then took more money out of my account the next month after my visit claiming that it was a " computer glitch" even after I very sternly explained to them that I wanted nothing more to do with them. These people do not care about the patient they care about the MONEY!!

I went in for the Incognito Braces. Dr. Lagstein pitches the program initially and pretends to take a genuine interest in the condition of your teeth and outcome of the treatment. I had relatively good teeth to start with. Throughout the duration of my treatment, I noticed things getting worse in areas I didn't had problems before. Six months into my treatment, I had to make the decision to switch to another orthodontist because my teeth were looking worse than before I even started treatment. I have very detailed pics for comparison. My advise to potential consumers is to make sure that the person that is pitching you the treatment option is actually the one that will be administering the treatment. DO YOUR RESEARCH! Dr. Lagstein is NOT an Orthodontist and I don't have high opinion of the one he has in office. He's simply a sales person! I'm regretful that I engaged in treatment with this practice. However, I am thankful that I found an orthodontist that's possibly able to straighten out my ordeal. The truth of the matter is that if Dr. Lagstein really did care about the integrity of his work, as he proclaim he does, he would not have allowed me to leave the office in the state that I was in. HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED!

I am also a patient that has experienced the exact same mishaps that the patient before me wrote of. I was reeled into the straight teeth in 6 months pitch and now my teeth are worse off that they were before. I got 3 professional opinions 6 months into my treatment and they all agree that my teeth are worse. Dr. Lagstein was present for the consultation with his pitch and payment arrangements. I experienced many occasions where my brackets would come off and my wires would be out of place. As of now, I'm 6 months into my treatment and my teeth are worse than ever, which they really weren't that bad in the first place. I had a minor issue with one of my 2 front teeth, but now, I have other issues such as spaces and bite issues that I did not have before. The reviewer prior to me is correct when he/she states that we, as patients, rarely see the dentist. The assistants do 80% of the work. If I had know what I know now, I would not have engaged in this treatment. I deeply regret it! Now I have to seek an orthodontist to correct my dilemma and possibly take legal action against this practice. STAY AWAY FROM DR LAGSTEIN'S PRACTICE!

I went to this dentist for behind-the-teeth braces. They kept popping off, wires also kept breaking and sticking into my gums yet they rarely could fit me in for an emergency appointment to fix these problems. I had to wait long stretches in agony until they could fit me in. Most of the treatment is performed by young girls. You rarely see an Ortho who makes a drive by appearance to ask how you are doing. This is a factory. Another Ortho advised me that my problems were caused by a poor initial application of the i-braces. RUN FROM THIS PRACTICE.

Dr Lagstein charged my family (my grandmother chipped in) thousands for my braces, and I am left with crooked teeth. I followed his directions perfectly regarding retainers etc, and when my teeth started moving, I came in for an extra appointment and brought it to his attention. He denied them moving and said I shouldn't wear my retainer anymore, but three months later my teeth had shifted so much he suggested braces again! I got out of there as fast as possible, and changed dentists. He also attempted to shave off the sides of my teeth to "help them fit together better" twice, because he forgot to record the first time they did it. His office also "discovered" six cavities on my friend that another, second opinion dentist found to be made up. He is not trustworthy!

Dr. Lagstein and his entire staff make you feel like family. They take the time to explain procedures and costs. They work with you and the insurance company. When my daughter needed retainers they made it all stress free. Both my daughters look forward to going for their visits.
