Given the fact that I have the worst of dental phobias, I was referred to Dr. Garvey by my family dentist to have two implants in November of 2008. Immediately Dr. Garvey and his professional and genuine staff put me at ease regarding the procedure. Dr. Garvey and his surgical assistant explained to me the necessary bone graft I would need, the dental implant procedure, healing process and most important to me: an oral sedation technique that would allow me to not be all aware of the procedure. The bone graft took place in January, the implants on June 4. Other than some minor swelling and discomfort afterwards, both procedures were less of a deal to me than a biannual teeth cleaning. Dr. Garvey is truly a gentle and professional doctor. He has become my latest hero. His surgical assistant, Sharon, is exemplary in all regards. For any one considering dental implants or restorative dental work of any kind, I can highly recommend Dr. Ron Garvey without hesitation.
As for the insurance coverage of a rather expensive procedure, only a small percentage of the dental implant procedure was covered. This is normal for any type of cosmetic surgery. As for his support staff, it is truly wonderful. Ellen and Karen are sincere and caring.
About Hygienist: Manners and patience with a big baby like me --- unbelievable! The entire staff is genuine, not at all insincere like many health care professionals I have known in the past.

The absolutely BEST dentist experiences, despite the need for major surgery. Wonderful staff and atmosphere, genuine caring in the services and follow-up, and highly professional care.
Although I relocated from OH to FL, I return to Dr. Garvey for periodontics care.

Dr. Garvey performed gum graft surgery for me (March 6, 2008). I was very apprehensive after my husband had the same procedure done a couple years ago by another Periodontist and was in pain for a long time.
Dr. Garvey was very gentle and caring, took the time to explain the procedure to me, answered all my questions patiently. His office staff is equally gentle, caring, and patient. Due to my apprehension, I called them numerous times before my surgery. None of them ever made me feel like I was a pest, bothering them.
The procedure went extremely smoothly, I did not have any pain afterwards. The healing process has been exactly as he described. The office staff ably took care of all insurance communications. The cost for the surgery is not cheap, but this is not a cheap procedure. The cost is on par with my husband's Periodontist.
I wish all my doctors (not just dentist) are like Dr. Garvey. He gets my HIGHEST recommendation!!

I had gum work done with Dr. Garvey and I had no problems. His office was clean and the hygenists were very good. And Dr. Garvey made me feel relaxed.
