I've been going for 6 years nothing bad or good to say till today. I missed one appointment and they decided to decline any future appointments. I was completely in disbelief that this was even happening after talking and I asked for the dentist/owner himself, things just got worse. he could care less. worst customer service of all. after all the rudeness at the end I was given another chance, no thank you. your loss!!

About Front Desk: rude no connection to clients, not a smile or a hello.

Since Dr Hsu has moved into his new larger building, his treatment and customer service has suffered greatly. He has lost 2 orthodontists in the past 3 years. Huge turnover in staff also. We prepaid for braces and are left with no orthodontist to complete the treatment. Dr Tsu insists he is trained in orthodontia, but does not have a license with the state of Oregon. He said my daughter's treatment was complete and she just needed a retainer. He agreed to refund of about a couple hundred dollars when we pushed and pushed and insisted on switching to a licensed orthodontist. Upon seeing the new orthodontist we found out my daughter's back teeth are not in alignment and neither are her front teeth-the midline. She has about 6 months more of orthodontia to straighten her teeth properly. Dr Tsu's office would not forward her records and they will not call us back regarding our small refund. Dr Tsu also said my daughter has two cavities. We switched to another dentist and alas SHE DOES NOT HAVE 2 CAVITIES. Stay away from this dentist. We have had nothing but problems. There is a huge lack of trust with his practices. I feel he is incompetent and just out for the money.

About Front Desk: Unfriendly and unhelpful.

Dr. Hsu has been a wonderful pediatric dentist for years. His office is decorated very well for kids. He and his staff are kind and put the child first. They even accept children on welfare which doesn't pay much for dental services. That says a lot about their business. They try their best to help parents with the insurance, although it's a complex and frustrating matter sometimes. They are a great option for pediatric dentistry if you live near Bethany or Hillsboro!

When he fixed one bad tooth for my son, Dr. Richard Hsu had to take the newly installed tooth out and do it all over again! My son cried and cried during the extended treatment period. When I talked to my friends also living in Bethany area, I noticed that we are not the only one who had horrying experience with him. If you are thinking about sending your kids there, do NOT do it.

Did not have compassion or patience for a terrified 5 year old boy. He made a child that was scared of going to the dentist now terrified.

I took my young daughter to this dentist approx. three or four times, a few years back. On each visit, Dr. Hsu insisted that my daughter was in dire need of some teeth pulling if she wanted to avoid having to endure extensive orthodontia in the future. I was assured that she would end up with a snaggle tooth on one side of her mouth and something equally objectionable on the other. I relented, and I'm glad I did. Now, a few years later, my daughter's smile is PERFECT. And this is without any teeth pulling or braces. I have to say that I've read similar complaints about this dentist on other forums, so beware!

My young son went into surgery to have multiple cavities filled. No extractions planned. He came out with his two front teeth pulled! Dr. Hsu told me that anesthesia bumped his teeth and had to be pulled. The two anesthetists in the room completely denied this! I have been told that the hospital were the surgery was completed is performing an internal investigation into what happened. I believe that Dr. Hsu is insincere in his "concern" for what is best for the patient and I believe his treatment is barbaric. My other children WILL NOT be going to Dr. Hsu.

Like the previous reviewer, I took my 3-year-old son for his first dental appointment at Dr. Hsu's. Our appointment was the first of the day. The doctor was over an hour late -- they told me he was stuck in traffic -- with very little apology for the inconvenience. Before the doctor arrived, the hygenist took xrays and partially-cleaned my son's teeth. This did not go well at all. My son is shy and was soon in tears. The hygenist did not seem to know what to do -- she acted as if this were the first fearful child she had ever dealt with. The doctor was friendly and seemed knowledgable, but the overall experience was such that we won't be returning.

I took my son to Dr. Hsu's office for his very first dental appointment. They were running about 45 minutes behind when I got there, but nobody bothered to tell me that until I asked after we had been waiting for 20 minutes. The dental hygenist seemed tired from their busy day and was trying to rush my son through his first ever X-rays...it didn't go very well-he could sense her irritation with him. I have no idea what her name is-she never told us. When Dr. Hsu finally was able to see us, he didn't introduce himself to me or my son and also seemed rushed. He may have been hungry-it was lunch time. I'm not sure if we'll return. My sister has a great dentist in Tualatin who takes her time to get to know the kids-especially on their first appoinment to help address their anxiety over such a new experience. I wish our experience had been more like that.
