I should have known better after visiting Dr. Ingber's website, as it proclaims him as one of the "finest dentists in America". I went to him to have a crown placed on one of my teeth, a very straight-forward procedure. But for some reason Dr. Ingber performed at the level reminiscent of an amateur practitioner. First, he poorly placed a temporary crown. I do recognize that temporary crowns aren't expected to be perfect, but there's a big difference between feeling a little bit of friction/rubbing and feeling like the crown is protruding well above my other teeth. Second, he let a dental assistant (he has 14) place my permanent crown, which might explain why she dropped it down my throat. As a result I had to have another temporary crown placed while I waited an additional two weeks for the laboratory to create another. Third, he poorly placed the permanent crown, having to repeatedly shave it until he drilled through the enamel. Rather than admitting the crown did not fit, he offered to shave my upper tooth . I left his office and sought out another dentist, who finished the job in less than three weeks. I think Dr. Ingber at one point might have been a fine dentist but since has compromised the integrity of his practice.

I had veneers done to close a gap, unfortunately he failes to insert the veneer securely and the teeth have shifted reopening the gap. I have since seen two specialist that informed me he did not perform due diligence as he should have cut the gums to prevent the opening. He's a good dentist but DO NOT get any cosmetic dentistry from him. Bad mistake!

In addition to doing outstanding work and employing a wonderful and gentle staff, Dr. Ingber completely cured my phobia about dentistry. I used to get so scared I once snuck out in the middle of a session. Then Dr. Ingber thought of using hypnosis on me. It worked miracles. Not only did my visits become painless and enjoyable, I no longer need Novocaine for drilling. This is a huge benefit, because I used to get a little sick from Novocaine. In my body, hypnosis actually works better than the Novocaine ever did anyway. It truly amazes me. After having work done I feel terrific, and I actually look forward to coming in and seeing everybody now. In my case, Dr. Ingber has been able to use hypnosis to make my dental work a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I can't tell you how happy I am with Dr. Ingber. I send all my friends to him. I think he's the greatest dentist on the planet. For the right patient and the right dentist, hypnosis can be a truly valuable part of dental treatment. But even if hypnosis isn't for you, Dr. Ingber is extremely gentle (as is his staff) and his outstanding skills have gotten him included in the Washingtonian's list of Best Dentists. I think he's great! SPR

About Hygienist: All of Dr. Ingber's hygenists are gentle, calm, pleasant, thorough, friendly, and kind. They all have lovely manners. I am very careful about brushing and flossing, and they are able to clean my teeth in about 15 minutes.

Dr. Ingber and his staff have provided me with excellent dental care for over a decade. When I first started seeing Dr. Ingber, I had loose fillings, the occasional cavity, receding gums, and peridontal disease. I've been going there every six months and my teeth have improved and stabilized and I no longer have any problems.

About Hygienist: Cindy, is excellent -- I always make my appointments with her. She is thorough, yet gentle and are very knowledgable and well-trained.

I think Dr. Ingber is a first-rate dentist. He does tend to be on the expensive side but I have never had any problems with any of his work. And if there is a problem, he will correct it at no charge. I have referred numerous friends and co-workers to him. They have all been very pleased with the results.

I have know n Dr. Ingber for 24 years. When I first went to Dr. Ingber I was so scared of a dentist. He reassured me that there was no need for me to be nervous and that he would do everything to make it as painless as possible. Thru the 24 years I have had to have quite a bit of dental work, including about 5 implants. The idea of implants upset me but Dr. Ingber reassured me that everything would be ok. My implants were a success and painless Thru the years I knew that I could rely on him at all times, I knew his office phone number better than I knew some of best friends. I am now moving away from Washington and will not be seeing him. If it wasn't for moving away I am sure I would have continued with him as my dentist. He is a very caring person as a dentist and I know that he will continue to be a great success.

Excellent quality work, particularly with implants. A colleague recommended Dr. Ingber, as someone who does not claim that some work is necesary when it is not. (Of course, if you want cosmetic work done, that is up to you!) Dream of a dentist's office, in terms of pleasant staff.

Dr. Ingber has been my only dentist since I arrived in Washington 28 years ago, which should say a lot about what I think of him. The facilities are superb. He and his staff are always professional and courteous, and understand patient anxieties. He is knowledgeable, a straight shooter, and will explain anything you need (in my experience, as many times as you need). If something is uncertain, and cannot be predicted exactly, he will say so and explain what is likely to happen, and what is most advisable. That to me is important. Dr. Ingber reminds me of the old-time doctors who actually knew their patients and followed up as necessary. To sum up, I always feel I am in good hands. You cannot go wrong.

Dr. Ingber's and Provazhnik's as a doctor is fine but the customer service and accounting procedures are a huge waste of time. Even for procedures that were covered by my insurance, they charged me first when they should have collected the amount from my insurance company (Delta Dental) directly. In another instance, they charged me much more for wisdom tooth extraction than what Delta pays them and never told me that they owe me $200. After I raised the issue, they said that they'll send a refund check but then went ahead and used $160 for regular cleaning and told me that I should expect a check directly from the insurance company. The procedure was done on March 14th and I still have not received the check from Delta in spite of calling Dr. Ingber and Provazhnik's office 3-4 times in the last 3 months.
