He recommended and made 2 free soft tissue graft, supposedly for saving my teeth and said he had had 98% of success in this kind of surgery. Some time later he checked and said the operations were very good. After some time, I went to my regular dentist that had previous pictures of my teeth and gums and took new pictures and she commented and I could see that there was almost no difference. The pain I suffered after the surgeries and the cost of them were not worth it at all.

I have yet to see all of my claims put through, even though I was assured they were all submitted to my insurance company. Only one was finally put through because I brought it to the staff's attention that my total annual maximum had not been met for the year. I was charged a fee the day of the service and paid it even before I went back to get the work done. Unfortunately, I blame myself that I left without any kind of bill showing me the charges, negotiated fee and final bill. All I received was a receipt from my credit card payment. So he got my money plus another small fee from my insurance company. I call this unethical as he is part of a preferred in-network dentist program and I don't even have proof that he honored the negotiated in-network fee because all my claims were not submitted to my insurance company and do I have a bill for services rendered.

wouldn't recommend this doctor as his office staff just horrible

About Front Desk: Horrible staff, rude office manager, I don't recommend that doctor as you will get a lot of problems with your bills (not getting bills, collection, charges). Unhappy with customer service, such a rude people there and no way you can get a doctor on the phone!

I saw Dr. Karlin for a crown lengthening 2 yrs ago - my back tooth had to be further exposed so the crown would fit securely. Procedure was painless & successful. Dr. Karlin shows a lot of concern for his patients. Last year I had to see him again to have gum grafted due to receding gums. This procedure was also successful. Dr. Karlin called me on both occasions after the surgery to go over the pain medicaiton again and to be sure I understood. Instrctions for follow-up care are very clear. Violet, the receptionist, is very sweet.

Nice, efficient and professional appearing periodontist. Good chair-side manners. Diagnosis appears to be inacurate, inconsistent with second opinion. Front desk staff are rude, insulting especially when not around the dentist. Staff unpleasantries resulted in my seeking alternate care and an entirely different treatment regimen.
