Having gone completely through having braces with Dr. VanDevanter I was shocked by the negative reviews. She and her staff have always being so kind, going out of their way to help us and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for great care to get a wonderful smile.

Dr. VanDeVanter is strictly in it for the money! She pays no attention to your needs and uses products which you're allergic to. Do yourself a favor, and go to a respected orthodontist like Terry Wallen.

Good results, but horrible customer service. Wants to charge for every single thing that goes wrong or if a wire or bracket comes off, even if their office is at fault. Expect to wait awhile to get into your scheduled appointment, as they are usually overbooked or running behind.

I took my eldest daughter to Dr. Vandevanter. My daughter was fitted with headgear. She was told not to wear it to school or during sports. Essentially this meant she would wear it for a couple of hours before she went to bed, while she was sleeping and for some extra hours on the weekends. Apparently this was not enough and her teeth were not moving fast enough to suit Vandevanter. I took her in for an appointment and I could hear Vandevanter yelling at her from the waiting room! I should have switched to another practioner then and there. The whole course of treatment was unpleasant and my daughter hated to go for appointments. Needless to say I took my younger daughter to another orthodontist, Dr Teri Wallen. What a change. Pleasant, professional, very positive. Go to Wallen you won't be disappointed.

I do NOT recommend this orthodontist! Even our dentist no longer refers patients to this office because they have had so many complaints and also because they believe that this office is often unethical in its practices. I felt that I received very poor orthodontic work from Dr. VanDevanter and her assistants, especially follow up work after my braces were removed. When the permanent retainer was put in, it fell out three times (these are supposed to last for at least 20 years) and although the fact that it fell out at all implied poor workmanship, they charged us $75 to re-glue it in place every time. My removable retainer was never correctly fitted, it caused constant, unending pain, which they told us shortly was normal. This is NOT normal. It also broke repeatedly. Wait times were always at least 20-30 minutes, the Doctor often refused to make after school appointments because she didnt want to work those hours. Both the doctor and her assistants would publicly berate children in the waiting room who they had discovered had eaten something off-limits Additionally Dr. VanDevanter was snippy and rude to both children and parents as were the other staff in the office. BEWARE
