This review is just to make everyone aware of my experience and help you choose a reliable and decent dentist. I saw this Dr twice and was very dissatisfied for several reasons firstly service, I asked for a copy of my x-rays and was charged $35.00 at several other Doctors I was never charged for that! the reason I asked for them; because he did a filling and I was in so much pain I was not going to let him put his hands in my mouth again and was off to see another Dr. The guy Tom that works in this office is so aggressive you cant have a decent talk with him to get a point across

My husband needed a root canal, and this so-called dentist didn't use enough novacaine. My husband was in extreme pain during the procedure, asked for more numbing agent to no avail. Slutsky was incredibly rude, and when my husband came out of the waiting room, he was pale as a ghost, shaking and had watery eyes from the pain. In no way was this normal for my husband. Slutsky not only ignored his pleas about the pain, his procedure wasn't done correctly either. And the office staff? Equally inept.

The doctor works on several patients at once, so often the anesthetic will wear out before he returns to work on me. Their billing practices are pushy and rude, often demanding pay in advance, and the signing of various disclaimers absolving them of any responsibility. Their accountant treats patients as if they are going to run away without paying.

About Hygienist: Well this is a sign of the times: Cleaning is free twice a year, but it lasts 12-13 minutes, tops.

Dr. Slutsky has replaced the dentist who formerly practiced at this location. Although he must be at least 50 years old, he was the least efficient dentist I have ever been a patient of (and I've seen at least 8 dentist in the course of my lifetime). His anesthesia procedure is very painful. He replaced two crowns, as well as two cavities. I am still feeling the pain 3 months later, and I wonder if the work was done correctly. The whole time he was doing the work, his dental assistant had to keep pointing out mistakes (he needed to drill out more decay, etc.) I think the whole office is well aware of his inefficiencies. I am going to be seeing another dentist to correct/fix the work that has already cost me over $2,000, but I refuse to go back to his office for more.

Dr. Slutsky currently works at the Dental Center of West Los Angeles. I asked Dr. Slutsky to look at 2 teeth that were causing me pain. X-rays showed nothing, and after a visual inspection, he said that he could see nothing that would cause me any symptoms. He said I should return if the pain persists. Three weeks later, the dental hygienist in his office was able to visually spot the cavities at the gumline that were responsible for my pain, and brought it to the attention of Dr. Slutsy, who appeared embarrassed. Three weeks later, when one of the large cavities that his associate filled became infected, Dr. Slutsky cut me open and drained the infection. He rubbed me so hard with an instrument when he forced the pus out that the searing pain made it difficult for me to get up and walk out. Worst of all, Dr. Slutsky's chair-side manners are so poor that he doesn't introduce himself or say hello. He has zero social skills and doesn't even attempt the usual niceties. He has an office person who explains all diagnoses and procedures to the patients for him. He corrects and reprimands his dental assistants, making it an uncomfortable atmosphere to be in. Never go to this dentist.
