I had a dental emergency on a Saturday when my regular dentist was closed. I called 1-800-DENTIST and they got me an appt. that morning with Dr. Liu. I had lost a crown in a front tooth and he made a temporary crown and post immediately. He sculpted the tooth in my mouth and it looks beautiful. He was very caring, professional and skilled. I would recommend him to anyone. I am so grateful to Dr. liu for taking care of me on a busy Saturday morning, especially since I was not one of his regular patients.

About Front Desk: Kind, polite and knowledgable.

About Hygienist: Personable, with great manners and empathy.

I thought he did a fine job, but after filling a cavity he did leave one of my back teeth a bit rough and sharp.

About Hygienist: Thorough Cleaning using high pressure water. Really cleaned under the gums.

Had multiple fillings, Root canal performed. Quick and pain-free. Hard to find a dentist that takes DMO/HMO, they do.

Dr. Liu is a smart and kind dentist and I trust his skill. He's fast but experienced and effective--also attitude-free and friendly. He has an accent but I've only had to ask him to repeat things on a couple of rare occasions. He manually extracted 4 wisdom teeth (2 at a time) with remarkably little pain, and I was so impressed that he personally called to check up on me after both procedures! The office can get chaotic and feel "assembly line like" because it's high traffic and open (i.e., there are no actual separate rooms so you might see other patients). That can be a little nerve-wracking at first, especially if you get nervous at the dentist. It's not at all one of those elegant, high-end dental offices so if you're looking for that, you might be turned off (this happened to a friend of mine who switched to Penn because of it). But Dr. Liu is great and their location is so convenient--I got used to the atmosphere quickly and it doesn't bother me. I guess you can call it "no frills." The front desk staff may not be overly friendly but they are efficient and professional. I've never had any problems with insurance, payment, etc., and they call to remind me about appointments. I easily recommend Dr. Liu (and have)!

About Hygienist: I've had a couple of hygienists (don't know their names) and they've been good. Not super warm but not rude either--quick and efficient. This place gets a lot of traffic so I guess they have to be that way! They use this high pressure water machine that is so intense it can feel like needles at your gums but they told me it does a very thorough job so it's worth it. Their cleanings tend to be fast in my opinion, but I assume that is because my teeth are in good shape and not because they're rushing it. It comforts me that Dr. Liu always checks on their work afterwards, and he seems detail-oriented. Plus I trust him most.

He did a poor job with a new filling. He informed me that I needed a new filling so I got the procedure done and had to go back twice to get it fixed. It is still a problem as I have sensitivity to cold in the tooth where he placed the filling. My teeth have always been good and this was the first treatment I needed in over 15 years (except for cleanings of course). I am now looking for a new dentist to fix this once and for all. The hygienist hurt me quite a bit (and I have a good tolerance for pain). When I told her she was hurting me, she did not apologize, instead she said she had no choice! The office is not welcoming. There is a major lack of privacy since there are no walls between the treatment areas. I had to wait 45 minutes for the hygienist once yet you feel rushed when you are getting treated. I have called and gotten a message that the office was closed for the December holidays (that was in May!), I got the same message again 2 months later. Finally, at check-out, they keep pushing me to do a teeth whitening procedure, which I am not even inclined to consider since they are not able to put in a filling properly.
