Dr Uyehara is a professional that is unique within the VA healthcare system. He consistently displayed a concern about his patients and delivers treatments in the utmost manner, equal to any prestigious private dentist. I feel extremely lucky to have found a dentist of his caliber.

Dr. Uyehara has the best bedside manner of any dentist I've been to, and I've seen about 15 of them in my lifetime. Unfortunately, he works for the Veteran's Administration, so getting an appointment with him is difficult if you are not a veteran of the armed forces.
Dr. Uyehara has done my fillings, repaired my teeth, and always makes me feel comfortable during my visits. If I didn't lose my eligibility to continue seeing Dr. Uyehara, I would definitely make the drive from Orange County up to Los Angeles to continue seeing him. Best dentist ever!
The equipment at the VA facility is not state of the art, but it is sufficient. They deal more with cleaning and care than cosmetic issues. If you can arrange it, I highly recommend seeing this dentist!
