I have my own dentist but I was not satisfied with the way he did cleaning. I was told to get cleanings by a hygenist so my reason for contacting Dr. Mark was to get my teeth cleaned by a hygenist. I made it clear from the time I made the appointment that I just wanted my teeth cleaned. After the actual cleaning, the doctor asked the hygenist to take x-rays (ignoring the fact that I have my own dentist and wasn't interested in his consultation). I told them I had my own x-rays even though I didn't understand why they needed them since all I needed was to get my teeth cleaned. So I sent my xrays via my phone and then the doctor came in and started giving me a comprehensive oral exam, as I later realized once I got the bill. He started discussing my crowns, asked me how I would finance it; I just wanted to leave. Then the secretary told me she would request insurance to pay for my crowns asking me to sign a form which wouldn't obligate me to anything. I signed not to be rude and then got a bill for cleaning AND comprehensive oral exam. I called the office reminding them that I never asked for the exam. They said that the doctor did give me the exam and I submitted for crowns so clearly I need to pay or they would contact collection
About Hygienist: The hygenist did a great job but her agenda was also to get the most out of my insurance and my money. It seemed like I was in a pharmacy; they were marketing many dental products right in the office including expensive rinses.
