Dr. Shin is a true craftsman and her attention to detail is unsurpassed. If you need a crown or other extensive work, she's the best.

Sandra Shin is a rare find in the dentist world and I highly recommend her. In fact I think this is my first yelp review, which says something. Both Dr Shin and her staff are extremely respectful of your time and go out of the way to help you understand what's going on and what can be done. Never once has she jumped at pushing further work unless absolutely necessary. In an example of how interested and supportive Dr Shin is, when my father was visiting from out of town and had some unexpected tooth pain arise, Dr Shin made room in her person schedule to fit him in immediately and did a fantastic job. Long after he went back home, Dr Shin still asks how he is doing. If you are looking for a dentist in the Bay Area, start here. Their office is super easy to get to, lots of parking and extremely clean and modern, an important touch in dentistry.

I rarely write online reviews, but I have been very impressed with Dr. Shin and her entire team so I am taking the time to write this. In addition to excellent quality of work, she is also very caring of her patients and takes a significant amount of time to explain pros/cons of the procedures and what is going on with the specific issue. At other dentists, there is sometimes the feeling like you are just one of several patients in the office that the dentist is trying to rotate through in order to maximize profits. At Dr. Shin's office, you never get that feeling. In addition, they are very flexible with scheduling. Highly recommended!

As a long term patient of Dr. Shin now, I have observed that she will not compromise the quality of her work, that of her staff, nor her patients well being. I selected Dr. Shin over my former dentist to replace all my old fillings. During the selection process, I felt Dr. Shin’s examination went far beyond what other dentists did in explaining the issues that might arise while replacing each one of the old fillings. The day after the procedure, her staff followed up to make sure that all was well, and if I felt I needed to see the Dr. they would figure out how to accommodate me that day. Based on my experience, I highly recommend using Dr. Shin’s practice.

I visited Dr Shin after having not gone to the dentist for some time. Needless to say, I was quite nervous when I went for my appointment. Dr Shin and her staff completely alleviated all the worries I had. Not only am I extremely happy with the work that Dr Shin did, but the process as she did it was excellent. She has an excellent chair-side manner. She clearly explains what she is doing as she does it. She is very conscious of the patients comfort. If you are looking for a dentist in the bay area, you can do no better than Dr. Shin.

About Hygienist: Fast, friendly and efficient. That was the experience I had with Gina. She did a tremendous job cleaning my teeth.

Dr. Shin, Gina the hygienist and Liandra are great. I was referred by my brother who is already a patient there. Took my 4 yr old for her first check up and cleaning and I was so pleased! Gina explained everything step by step and was very gentle with my daughter. Then I had my cleaning (which was excellent!) and check up. Dr. Shin was very personable and notated things she was going to monitor in my teeth for my next visit. It was overall very pleasant and efficient and best of all my daughter wants to come back for another cleaning! Happy mama here. So glad we have finally found our family dentist.

Proactive build up on rough front teeth both top and bottom. Very pleased with results and no novocaine required.

Dr. Shin’s dental office is the BEST dental office I have ever been to. Consider that I lived in 8 cities before Silicon Valley. I have had never imagined that each of my dental appointment with Dr. Shin could become such a joyful highlight to me. The whole office has an atmosphere of happiness. I feel so relaxed and easeful every time I sit on the dental chair there. The professional level of Dr. Shin’s competence let you leave it up to her. You got nothing to worry. Dr. Shin gives very reliable advices on braces and everything. She prioritizes your benefits over other considerations. Not to mention her marvelous technical skills, the fillings I have from Dr. Shin are so comfortable and persisted, and the procedure of each filling was so enjoyable that I could fall asleep every time. I love her, and you will too.

About Hygienist: The hygienist of the office is also the BEST I have ever met. Her name is Gina. Her technical skills are so gentle and efficient. You would want to have cleaning appointments more than twice a year after you see Gina.

Dr. Shin was referred by my sons' pediatric dentist and boy am I glad I found her ! I've been going to see Dentist most of my life and she ranks the top. To me, a good dentist needs to meet several criteria. First and foremost, she needs to be skilled with good credential. Second, and equally important, she needs to be honest about the treatment plan, thus working for the best interest of the patient. Unlike other medical treatment, it may take years until you find out if the treatment was right for you and/or it was done right with high quality. Given that, most insurance provides coverage less than satisfactory, getting the right treatment at the right time also means possible savings in the long run. I don't know how she does it, but Dr. Shin is already willing to explain everything in detail and say things as is. She is not aggressive with offering treatment and she focuses on getting it right the first time. I feel completely comfortable voicing my opinion. Also, a couple of times, I had a dental emergency when my cap decides to let loose. So, I called her and she gladly made time to help fix those so that I could go about my normal business. It was really last minute, late call, so I wasn't sure if it could be done.
