I have been a patient in Dr Maruhashi's clinic for 4-5 years. 1. On my first visit to the clinic, I was told to do a x-ray exam. When I asked if my insurance will cover, the answer was yes. But it turned out to be false. And I have to pay for it. I would expect they admit their mistake. I don't think that $50 is a big deal for them. 2. I have a lot of pain when my teeth was having infection and the nerve was dying. I called on Thu and was told that clinic is closed on Friday. But I was not told that in such case I can schedule urgent care on Sat. So I have to bear the pain for another 3 days till Monday. 3. A late cancellation of follow up appt for the root canal and have to reschedule. This is fine. But when I arrived on time for the rescheduled appt, I had to wait for almost an hour. It will be great if they can just tell me they are running behind and I can arrive late instead of sitting and waiting. I have work to do. From my experience, I feel I am not valued as a patient and the staffs do not take responsibility for their own mistakes.

As a general dentist I can highly recommend Dr. Maruhashi. I have know him as my dentist for many, many, years. He treats my entire family: 2 grown children, myself and my husband. He prices are very reasonable, his staff is friendly and he stays on schedule.

I really like Dr. Maruhashi and am loyal to him. I got new insurance for a while that did not cover him, and the dentist I went to caused me a lot of pain and refused to clean my teeth unless I had full x-rays (which I refused to do because I was 7 months pregnant). The effects of the filling I got there still hurts me. However, Dr. Maruhashi is sweet and compassionate, and if something hurts you, he backs off. I don't know of any dentist office that resembles a health spa or 5-star hotel, but the staff treat you well, the Dr. is gentle and kind, and his work fixes the problem and doesn't create more for later. I think he's wonderful and I highly recommend him!

About Hygienist: Wonderful. My husband and I have been treated very well by everyone present.

My former dentist retired and sold his practice to Dr. Maruhashi. I was willing to give him and his staff a chance especially since he was keeping my favorite hygienist who is excellent, professional and above all, asks the right questions and listens. It was understood that whenever I had a dental appt this particular hygienist would be scheduled. However I was extremely disappointed with my last visit when his receptionist booked me with a different hygienist who not only was indifferent towards me in her attitude and manner but knew nothing about me and for the first time in years, she made me cry because she inflicted pain and made me choke several times because while cleaning my teeth, she would not suction or vacuum the fluids collecting at the back of my throat a regular basis. I made my disappointment clear with the receptionist who in turn became defensive and complained to Dr. Maruhashi. He did not provide me the courtesy to ask me directly as to why I was upset with the service but admonished me for being "mean and unpleasant" to his staff, unaware and blissfully ignorant of the true situation. When I explained what was going on, he made excuses for his staff saying "they were new." Not once was an apology given.

He is knowledgeable and honest doctor. He is so fixable and thoughtful. I can see him as I need even on the weekend.

Dr. Maruhashi was very knowledgable and friendly. I was totally satisfied with my visit and plan to see him regularly. My co-workers recommended him to me.
