dentists missed. THE GREATEST! He did an implant and a root canal, and I had NO swelling or pain afterward!

I went to Dr. Yi and wasn't too impressed, though I do believe he is a good dentist. He wasn't too friendly and didn't put me at ease, especially since I needed a lot of work. I ended up only having my cavities filled with him, which turned out fine. He did take x-rays and photographs of my mouth to initiate the treatment process. The way he described things suggested he was knowledgeable and perfectly capable. However, because of the extent of the dental work I needed (tooth extraction, implants, straightening), I decided to seek a different dentist. The staff was pleasant enough. He is perfectly fine and not too expensive, but if you want a dentist who is more pleasant and personable who will make you feel at ease, I would go elsewhere.

Good, effcient initial visit. Makes one feel comfortable by asking how you're doing a bit. Has transparent information posted about possible dental side-effects which all dentists should have posted.

Dr. Yi is expensive, but really one of the best. The amount of care he puts into a simple filling is extremely impressive. For me, he did several cleanings, one deep cleaning, one crown, and one implant. All of these were excellent. At times he doesn't explain things very well, and he does have small troubles with English, but his diagnostics and skills are excellent. I haven't done everything he recommended, because some treatments were a lot of money for teeth that give me no problems at all today, but he might be right anyway. In one case, he pointed out that an existing filling was overlapping the tooth surface and recommended that it be replaced, and I think he was right. Very impressive that he even noticed. His office staff isn't very good, one having even more problems with English. However, I go back even though I don't need any more implants, because his basic skills (and the high quality he demands from his lab) haven't been beat in my experience. At one point, I was so concerned about the price that I went and paid for a second opinion from another (highly recommended) prosthodontist, and her verdict was that Dr. Yi's work, ideas, and prices were entirely apropriate.

This dentist just tried to scare me into getting a really expensive treatment from him, but he didn't seem really concerned about my actual needs.
