Dr. Turchin proposed that I replace multiple fillings, and said that they had cavities underneath them. I got a second opinion from a different dentist, who said I had exactly zero cavities. When I called about this, I was told a different explanation, that my fillings had cracked instead. Funny how Dr. Turchin forgot to say that the first time, and how the other dentist also somehow didn't notice any of the cracked fillings either. I stuck with that dentist. I got a third opinion incidentally, but that was just a visual inspection, no x-rays. No cavities or cracked fillings from the third dentist either.

About Hygienist: Spent 10 minutes trying to X-ray my lower left molar due to her incompetence. Blamed me and my gag reflex. Another staff member came over and did it for her much easier.

Had a second opinion for excessive cavities and Dr. Turchin spent a lot of time talking with me, examining tooth by tooth, and looking at x-rays. The time was more than I had expected, and he was a very science oriented dentist that had some interesting perspectives and new schools of dental thought to add into the mix for my treatment. He was not as communicative as I would have liked, and the hygienist had to pull some answers out of him for me.
About Hygienist: Very enthusiastic and helped the Dr. Turchin communicate while he was examining x-rays. She was very comforting and eager to talk to me about anything with my teeth or my fears while I waited for the Dr.

Thorough, personable, intelligent; very clean and organized office. The only thing that bothered me was that he seemed to propose treatments that were not strictly necessary, with a clear interest in racking up the bills and increasing the profit margin. This was done in a fairly low-key way, certainly not aggressive, but the bottom line is that it was being done. This kind of practice, however muted, does not meet my ethical standards.
About Hygienist: The hygienist I had was great. A friend had other, less experienced hygienists who seemed to be just passing through, and apparently these were less good. The office staff is unfailingly personable.

Extremely well-organized office and very personable and sensitive staff. Dr. Turchin is a careful, intelligent dentist with a pleasant manner and nice sense of humor.

Dr. Turchin and his staff are simply wonderful. These are good people providing terrific and professional service. Highly, highly reccomended.
