We were customers of Dr. Mills for a few years, and he is overall a good doctor using the latest equipment.
However -- Last year our insurance has changed making him out of network. Then, in my latest visit I asked about my out of pocket cost. The finance person told me what my out of pocket cost would be, and was confident she does not need to check with the insurance company. Afterwards, it turned out that the insurance payed less than she expected, so I got charged for the difference (almost $1000!). To make a long story short, the doctor's office insisted that I would pay the difference between THEIR original estimate, and the actual insurance payment.
It is true the patient is ultimately responsible for paying the bill, however I feel like I have been scammed since I am paying almost $1000 more for a wrong benefits estimate THEY had made with oodles of confidence ("Don't worry" kind of statements).
Bottom line, stay away if you want to know how much you'll pay. Dr. Mills is good but is unreliable when it comes to predictable billing - I felt it was unprofessional and a bit too greedy.

Dr. Mills is a GREAT dentist who has been treating our family since our (grown) children were very small. He is really good with children, very personable, and doesn't rush his patients. When we have needed emergency care, it always happens in a timely fashion.
In addition to cavity filling, we've had nightguards and crowns, and in my personal experience, no other dentist has been anywhere near as successful at skillful topical anesthesia. In addition, Dr. Mills seems always on top of the latest innovations and procedures in dentistry.
We very highly recommend Dr. Mills and all the nice people who work in his office.
About Hygienist: Hygienists have been very nice, friendly and helpful, as have the office administrative staff.

Dr. Mills and staff are friendly, efficient, and professional. He's up on the latest technology and has a conservative, pain-free focus (providing just what you need, no more, no less). Service is usually right on time, and they accommodate emergency appointments well. I was very happy with crown, night guard, dental implant (he did all procedures but the surgery), and veneers done by Dr. Mills's office. It's off the beaten path but has very pleasant views of shady trees and hummingbirds out its windows. I think they're closed Fridays.

Best dentist! I have visited dentists on three continents and both coasts of the U.S. and Dr. Mills is by far THE BEST! He is thoughtful, caring, careful, gentle, and patient. My husband, who had always feared dentists due to bad experiences was immediately put at ease with Dr. Mills. Despite having to do multiple root canals and crowns, he only had great things to say about his experience. In the 9 years I have gone to his office, only one time was there another patient in the waiting room (she had an emergency). Dr. Mills makes a point of not overbooking. He allows 45 full minutes for each appointment in order to be thorough. He has a successful practice built upon patient care (not money). His staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. He is a role model dentist and an all-around good person!
About Hygienist: The hygienist is wonderful! Kristi, like Dr. Mills, is patient, thoughtful, caring, thorough, gentle, etc. Like Dr. Mills, she does not rush through appointments and she communicates clearly to patient and dentist. When you are in Dr. Mills' office, you are consulted as an advocate for yourself, rather than talked to. Dr. Mills and Kristi educate their patients; they don't lecture. Overall, a wonderful experience and wonderful office!

Dr. Mills is pleasant and friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. The whole team gets to know you as a person and makes you feel welcome from the time you make your appointment.. Dr. Mills is up to date on technology and procedures and does the research to make sure he only practices the best and safest dentistry for his patients. Even though I live in San Jose, I continue to go to Dr. Mills.

Incredibly professional, work 'lasts'. Keeps you informed of what he finds, costs, options, success rates etc.
'Low' pain environment. takes great care to ensure all stresses are kept to a minimum.
All staff here are superb.
Even though Ive moved several times round the valley I have stayed with his practice.

The entire staff is friendly and helpful. The experience is very personal and they make you feel like a friend even if you only come in every 6 months or less. Dr. Mills walks you through every procedure and explains what he is doing and what kind of sensation to expect along the way. The technology is up to date, but not to the point of excess. They are careful to use the latest or greatest procedures, materials and tools only when confident that it will provide better patient care without unnecessary expense.

Dr Brian Mills has treated various dental conditions for me over the last 20 years including: fillings, crowns and two root canals.
These treatments were all painless and highly successful. His facillities are state in the art and his Dr-Patient chemistry is anxiety reducing and most soothing. His office staff are efficient and totally professional.

Dr. Mills keeps up on the latest technology, but will not bring technology to his practice that he doesn't believe has been proven. He's done several crowns for me and saved some teeth that other dentist have failed with. He's pleasant and his staff is great. I'd have no issue recommending him to anyone.

Although the crowns looked good, erroneously gave me
crowns made of a material that disintegrated before
5 years were up. I had to wait to get them
replaced by my insurance company.
