STAY AWAY! I went here last year for a checkup, had a thorough checkup and cleaning by the dental hygienist (I forgot her name, but she was really good). Anyway, she determined that I had one or two cavities and waited to confirm with the dentist. When Whiteman came in, he also agreed that I had two really small cavities. That was that, and I made an appointment to return for the filling, thrilled with my visit. Upon returning and sitting in the chair for my fillings, I was startled to be told that "we're gonna fill 2 of your cavities today and will make an appointment to fill the rest at another time." I said, "wait... I was told that I only had 2 small cavities." This dentist (a woman) looked at the paperwork, confirmed my name, and said "It says here that you have 7." =O ...she looked at my mouth and said "hmm.. yea you do" ...she proceeded to fill 2 on the top (which I shouldn't have even allowed). I left angry and confused, made an appointment to return, but ended up canceling. I recently went to another dentist (Dr. Selvan) who took X-rays, checked my teeth, and concluded that I had ZERO cavities... ZERO. Shocked & skeptical, I left and ended up making an appointment with my UNION dental center. There, I had the most thorough X-ray workup and assessment EVER and was told that I have 1 tiny cavity. Bottom line, unless you're going for a cleaning OR have referral paperwork from your Union that specifies exactly what you need done, DO NOT go here. Also, get copies of any X-rays/paperwork after EVERY doctor visit ...& word of advice, if something feels off, you have the right as a patient to refuse anything you want.

I used to go to Andrew Whiteman once a year for teeth cleaning when I moved to Old Bridge in 1999. In around 2007, the crown from a root canal done by another dentist that lasted 15 years fall off. I went to him for a new one. The new crown he put in only last a few months then came off. I ended up with a gum infection that the whole teeth needed to be pull. I do not trust him at all. He is all about making money then caring for patient.

I worked for Dr. Whiteman. Upon my departure he told the entire office that I was running a Crystal Meth lab in my backyard. He also told them I was harassing him and begging him for money. None of that is true. As a matter of fact a lot of what he tells the patients is not true. Mostly every suggestion for oral surgery is unnecessary. He does not fill the cavities he claims patients have either. Every 6 months they have the same cavities when they come back for their cleaning. He waits to tell them they are there until they are bigger and he can charge more money for them. I would not recommend him to anyone. He is fake. He treats his employees like garbage. Its supposed to be a "team" and he is just in it for the money. The fillings he did for me all came out and had to be done right by another dentist.

About Hygienist: One of the hygienists is wonderful. Very personable, honest and well trained. I would recommend Ashley to all. The other hygienist Dawn is like Dr. Whiteman. She is fake, she follows his lead in not doing her job honestly. I would never recommend her.

This doctor did put a cap and replaced my bridge and have been miserable since. I had the capped tooth extracted and may end up doing the same with the area that he bridged. I am currently in so much pain I may have to get another dentist to take a look at it.

Office Staff is extremely rude. Office staff had the audacity to say to me that I shouldn't be making appointments to have my teeth cleaned every six month if I didn't have dental insurance. I was told from an office staff member who handles the billing that "I shouldn't be getting my teeth cleaned every 6 months like I do if I don't have dental insurance" after they charged me an additional $50 for a canceled appointment that I canceled in an appropriate time frame. The most recent dental assistant that cleaned my teeth chipped the back of my front tooth saying that I needed to have repair bonding done to my tooth, which the dentist confirmed knowing that would cost me an additional $200 something dollars. Unprofessional, rude and blatantly mean to me communicating to me that I'm rude to them. I'm a college educated white woman with class, and was treated very rudely, spoken to as if I was an idiot. One office staff member is particularly rude to me, very mean for whatever reason I don't know.

About Hygienist: unprofessional, chipped my tooth purposely so that I'd have to make an appointment to have it fixed to spend more money.

Dr. Andrew Whiteman is a very good general dentist. I would highly recommend him for general dentistry and is very conservative in his approach with his patients. He is also great with young kids. The office staff is very efficient in confirming appointments one week in advance.

About Hygienist: Ashley is very nice and great with kids.
