DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. I went to Dr. Matsunaga for a filling and luckily I went to another dentist a week later to be fitted for braces. Not only did Matsunaga not get all the cavity out before doing my filling but he didn’t even fill the tooth all the way. I had to have the filling completely redone just two weeks later.

This was the worst customer service and experience i have ever had. Dr. Chris Matsunaga is rude and disrespectful and possibly racist. I went back to get a filling done by this dentist and in the middle of the filling his assistant being rough knocked out a piece of a tooth that had just got a root canal and they didn't even apologize, instead this dentist blamed me that they knocked out a tooth they weren't even working on. Then i called this dentist back to get a break down of what was billed to my insurance and the receptionist was very rude and accused me of not wanting to pay my bill and then hung up in my face. I called back and this time spoke to Dr. Matsunaga who was also very rude and irate about me wanting a breakdown of the bill. I simply told this dentist i would like an apology for the poor customer service to which he responded that no apology was owed to me, just like no apology was owed to me when they knocked my tooth out of my mouth. I would never recommend this dentist. Not to mention the filing he did on my tooth left residue between three of my teeth, because he did a sloppy job. He obviously thinks he can go around doing anything to anyone. I am reporting this dentist to the board.

Dr. Matsunaga is a great dentist with me and my kids. Old facilities, but relaxing atmosphere. No anxiety.

Dr. Matsunaga is always thorough, expert and kind - perfect for general and long-term care. My chronic problems are gingival (gum) recession and wear from nocturnal bruxing, which he monitors when I visit for regular cleaning. He recently advised that we have postponed gingival grafting as long as we prudently can and referred me to a periodontist. A molar went bad and needed extraction a year ago, for which Dr. M cautiously referred me to an oral/maxillofacial surgeon because the supporting jawbone was thin. He has explained patiently the prosthetic options, somewhat complex, so I can choose what's most suitable. Without stinting on practical needs, modest offices moderate costs. Staff is cheerful and efficient.
