Six years ago Dr. Scott Pope implanted a bridge in my mouth that was not only unsuitable, uncomfortable and unattractrive, for the first time in my life I had buck teeth. In spite of my complaints that I was biting my lips, tongue and cheeks, he refused to correct his work or take responsibility for it. I switched to a new dentist. who shaved the teeth down to fit my mouth. Five years later Dr. Pope's bridge came loose. When it was removed, it was discovered that because it had never fit my mouth correctly, decay had leaked under the bridge. I have since had to endure a root canal and several extractions, not to mention thousands of dollars in additional dental work. When I informed Dr. Pope of the results of his horrendous dental work, he just shrugged and said, "I'm not responsible." Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend him.

In my opinion, Dr. Pope needs to learn how to glue on a temporary crown before he attempts to actually glue a permanent crown on. Three times temps fell off before the gluing appointment. (This is for the same tooth!) I need say no more. I'm now with another dentist who will take over for Dr. Pope and do the job.

pushy pushy pushy. more concerned about getting you to sign on for expensive procedures than taking care of your teeth. the office staff will hound you constantly with phone calls (to schedule appointments, etc.), even when you ask them not to.

I've been going to Dr. Pope for a few years. I originally was drawn to his practice because he is labeled as a "cosmetic dentist." My teeth are wore down from years of grinding and I'd like a better smile - otherwise, they are in pretty good shape. At my first appt. with him, it seemed like I had to keep pressing him on solutions for a better smile which seemed weird. I don't know if his mind was on a golf game later in the day or what, but it sure didn't seem like he was interested in going through options with me. After that, I had the BrightSmile process done which was a total waste of $$$ and left my teeth ultra-sensitive for days. I was given no info re: how sensitive my teeth would be or that I could only eat white-colored foods for the following 24 hours after the procedure. The last straw was at my last cleaning/checkup when he casually tells me I need $20,000 in treatment for veneers and crowns to take care of my terrible wear problem, otherwise, I may start losing my teeth. It wasn't until after I left that it occured to me "why is this coming as a surprise to me - the "wear" didn't just happen overnight???" Me thinks he wants me to finance his next vacation. I'm not going back.
