I came in today for a cleaning. Sat in the patient chair and this guy came in and introduced himself as Dr. Brian Polillo. I asked him the same question I've asked my previous doctor (who apparently moved on from the clinic) - to "analyze my teeth and give me a sense of whether I'm brushing and flossing them well enough in comparison to his other patients". Weirdly enough, he got on a defensive side and responded "this is a ridiculous question. All I can tell you is that you should brush and floss more". He then sat down and started to work on cleaning my teeth. I then clarified to soften the situation: "I just used to ask this question of my previous doctor and she would give me good directions". He then responded with: "I am not her, and you are free to choose another doctor next time". You can imagine my shock! Indeed this is the first and last time I'was seeing him. And then added "This is not a teeth cleaning clinic, but a surgery clinic" - clearly he has an inflated sense of self and treats patients as if their questions aren’t worth his time/attention/greatness.
When he was done, I spoke to the assistant, who was clearly shocked after that scene. She was apologetic and said that she wish to have worked with my last doctor.
