I was referred to Dr. Leventhal from my Dentist Gary Senk for root canal on a "problem" tooth. Dr. Leventhal took time to do the root canal, but was unable to go conventional route due to blockage in canal. He another Endodontist (Dr. Gelb) look at the tooth to see if we could avoid surgery, but surgery was necessary. He explained every step of the way and was very accommodating.

About Front Desk: The receptionist is very personable and helpful.

I had two root canals done by Dr Leventhal. I was referred to him by two dentists. He successfully treated my problem. He has a very nice chair side manner. He is direct, honest, and to the point. The procedure was fast and over before I expected. The office staff was very pleasant.and also helpful with my insurance questions. I would definitely reccommend Dr Leventhal to my friends.

This is by far the worst endodontist I have ever been to. When I told him I was in pain and could feel the drilling, he told me, "You're numb, there's no way you felt that". Um, yes, I did, I'm pretty sure I know when I feel something, not you. Secondly, he has owed me $108 for the last 4 months. He always has some excuse of why they cannot pay me. The office staff has told me, "well, frankly we owe a lot of people money, you're just going to have to wait." I am reporting him to the ADA and BBB. Do NOT use this dr. He is rude to his patients, his office staff is rude and unprofessional, and he will overcharge you, requiring you to pay before offering treatment, then not refund your money, forever apparently.

Had an emergency root canal done, and only posting because of the negative review---I came in with pain everywhere, and he was very cool and decisive about how to help me. I had explained upfront that I've had bad experiences with fillings and not having enough painkiller, and he got me shot up enough to go through a root canal. I can honestly say that the pain I had going into the office was worse than anything that happened inside of it. Furthermore, the pain is gone and I havent even filled the Rx for pain. The important thing is to have an upfront conversation with ANY doctor about what youre afraid of and how you can be made more comfortable. I dont need to be best friends with the guy---I'm hiring him for a skill job that I need done right the first time. Dr. Leventhal is my kind of guy in the sense that he got the job done in a professional manner, and responded to my requests. And I'm a hell of a lot better off after going to his office.

I would not recommend this Dr even if he was the last one left on this planet!! I would rather loose my teeth than go back. Very rough, not aware of patient's discomfort, never asked if I was in pain when I clearly tried to motion to him that I was in horrific pain. He knew very well that I needed additional anesthesia shots (my body does not take it very well) and he only gave me the bare minimum. From the very moment he started, I jumped in pain and tried to motion to him with my hands and TEARS that I was in pain. I had to endure 25 mins of the most horrific pain I've ever had in my life...imagine a root canal without anesthesia!! I don't know how I didn't pass out from the pain. DO NOT GO !!
