Great Dentist. Repair a broken tooth for me without having to replace it. Wonderful work.

I went in to have a permanent crown cemented in. First, the staff is so unfriendly it's crazy. I was late and they sat 5 feet away discussing their annoyance with me. Second, Dr. Kaplan is 80+ years old, so is his equipment, and he can barely move. The paint was rusting off the machine, and someone had to hold the plug in! Dr. Kaplan used my head to hold his weight while he worked on me, so his watch cut into my forehead. He said his hands were clean so he didn't need to wear gloves, but his fingernails were so long that he repeatedly cut my gums and lips with them. Disgusting!! He also knocked me in the teeth EVERY single time he put in, or took out the little mirror they use. When he started to put in my crown, he put it in crooked and it pinched and scraped my gums. When I complained, he blamed "gum sensitivity". Then, he said it didn't fit so he drilled it down, and because he was using my head for balance, managed to drill my gums also. Finally he got the crown in, but when he had me bite down...it BROKE. My $1200 crown BROKE because he'd drilled it too much! He said that he'd seen a small crack in it, and that it would have broken anyway. Amazing that he managed to not take responsibility for that either.

Really nice, but really old. Would recommend for a straight forward cleaning, but not fillings or other work.

I am new to the Atlanta area, and visited Dr. Kaplan as he was the closest dentist to me. The office and equipment appear very old, probably from when he graduated in 1947. In terms of service and paperwork, everything went smooth. The Dr. and his team seemed nice enough, although I couldn't understand hardly a word Dr. Kaplan was saying. And this is coming from a person who mumbles himself. So while everything went well, it would help if I could actually understand him. I am still not sure if I will be going back for my next cleaning.

I was a patient of Dr. Kaplans for 3 years. He declined to wear gloves when working on me over 5 times so I had to drop him. What dentist doesnt wear gloves?

This was my first visit to Dr. Kaplan's office and I am not pleased. I have never had such a painful cleaning and I have gone to the dentist regularly my entire life....without a cavity. The equipment looks to be at least 50 years old and could use an update. I also got a bill with 40$ worth of charges not covered by my insurance. These charges were for an adult flouride treatment and "hygeine instruction." Considering my dental history, I don't think I needed a 20$ lesson on how to brush. ( They didn't say anything about how to floss. That's probably another 20$) Also, I was not made aware of these charges prior to my visit. My suggestion is to keep looking for a dentist.

This is a worn down facility, that would be charming under the right conditions. The receptionists were flippant and not welcoming at all. The hygenist was insensitive to the fact that the type of cleaning they use is uncomfortable and actually painful. She simply told me not to move as she "sandblasted" my teeth and tongue with the baking soda mixture. I have never had such a poor experience. The Dentist is very very old, cant hear well and provided me with no feedback. I will not go back.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kaplan for five years. I have been pleased with the ready availability of appointments and the service I received in the office. Compared to other local dentists, the cost is quite reasonable. Cleanings by the hygenist are somewhat more vigorous than I've experienced at other dentists, which might be a problem for patients with sensitive teeth. Dr. Kaplan has been in the business a long time and seems very competent. Although his base equipment is very old, the attachments used on the patient are up-to-date.
