I am new to Jacksonville and was given the recommendation to see him from my boyfriend, who has been seeing Dr. Edwards for quite some time.
Although I explained to his staff that I am typically pretty stressed about seeing the dentist because of some poor experiences from my childhood, they did nothing to help alleviate my apprehension. One of the assistants told another that I was "having an anxiety attack" which was certainly nowhere near to being true- I have never had an anxiety attack in my life. I was simply explaining my apprehension...they were not doing any procedures at that time.
They sent me to endodontist to have a root canal and when I returned to their office for the crown prep, after I was given novocaine, I mentioned that I could still feel some pain. Dr. Edwards told me " There is no way you can feel anything, you've had a root canal."
He did give me more Novocaine but nicked my gums with the needle. Only once during the procedure did anyone ask me how I was doing and when I replied negatively no one even blinked an eye.
I found the office dingy and antiquated. It doesn't seem to me that their tools and equipment are the latest versions available.
I won't be returning.
