The absolute worst worst worst...ruined my teeth....3 fell out....refused to repair them because he racked up my insurance for a tooth cleaning stating he did other work he didn't do.......
would never go back....ever.........he is wacked out
About Front Desk: No one ever answers the phone, then they cancel appointments...he never shows up for his patients

He's a complete mess. He was always running late, his work was sloppy, the conditions in his office are atrocious and I have even seen him work on people, myself included, without putting gloves on! I am convinced that if someone were to investigate Dr. Gaines he would lose his license in a heartbeat and probably be thrown in jail.
Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Dr. David S. Gaines. He's completely incompetent and will leave you worse off than when you started.

The worst dentist I have been in my whole life. Doctor Gaines placed a crown in my mouth that caused a huge infection on one my teeth. I had to have the whole service redone and had to pay full for it, the insurance companies do redo crowns younger than 5 years. This dentist ended up costing me a lot of money. Ver bad dentistry, I would recommend you avoiding Doctor Gaines.

Every cavity he has filled has required a root canal within 6 months. The office is dirty, and several times I have had to wait over an HOUR after my appointment time to see him.

I didn't have a great experience there. I had bonding done on a tooth that I had to have removed by another dentist and replaced because it looked like a distorted tooth instead of real and natural looking. The fillings that he's done have all fallen out and now I have to have them replaced once again. A lot of talk and very little substance.

Dr. Gaines is a great dentist, he has a good heart and he is there for his patients. I remember one New Years Eve Dr. Gaines went to his offc. just for me because my front crowns had gotten loose I couldn't eat. I didn't know Dr Gaines that well, a friend had given me his # Dr. Gaines came to the rescue. he fixed my crown he finished @11:00 pm . What Dentist would do that for a new patient? None. I thank God every day. I have had several procedures done at Dr Gaines offc. from extractions, bonding, root canal, to a front crown Dr Gaines did an excellent job. I felt great to have such a beautiful smile & Dr. Gaines made that Possible. Dr. Gaines out did himself with my front crown. In reference to the other procedures done I felt no pain, the cost was reasonable, the staff are all friendly, The atmosphere in the offc is pleasant. The staff makes you feel comfortable. They work with your insurance company & explain everything in detail to you. I am so grateful to have found Dr Gaines, he is a God's sent. I wouldn't know what to do if Dr. Gaines wasn't here. There is only one place for Dr. Gaines & that's here in Fla. I highly recommend Dr. Gaines. Want a great smile and someone you can trust. Go to the #1 dentist, Dr. David Gaines.
About Hygienist: The Hygienist has been there for years also, she is very gentle, thorough and leaves your teeth and gums feeling clean. She has a great hand and she talks to your while doing the cleaning and lets you know things that you can do to keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy.

Cancels more appointments than he keeps. A ratio from personal experience of about 5:1. 3 crowns in 5 years on the same tooth that now needs an implant. Personally likeable; professionally ....???

I have been going to Dr. Gaines since 1987 and have so far been very pleased with every aspect important to me about visiting a dentist. The fact that he has been in his location in Coconut Grove for nearly 30yrs impresses me as well. This is a doctor with a personality, sense of humor and has a way of making me feel very at ease. I have to drive about 45 minutes now for my visits to Dr. Gaines, even with MANY dentists nearer me and am happy to do it. I just had my temporary bonding removed and veneers put on about two hours ago. My gums are still a little tender, as I suspected they would be. In a couple days I will be better able to asses my new veneers.

Dr Gaines is the best dentist ever!! He makes it a point to ease your tension and is so kind and fun the visit feels like going to see a friend. I had two root canal procedures at once and the next time someone tells me they are afraid of a root canal I'll tell them to grow up cause I didn't feel a thing.
