I was having pain in a molar & on a Thursday went to my dentist & was referred to Dr Raymond Pollina who was out until Sat. By then my jaw & neck were horribly swollen. After the root canal he said the infection had already drained into my jaw & neck & there was nothing to drain. The pain had intensified by the next afternoon. I called Dr. Pollina who said since it was Sunday to go to the ER. I was immediately admitted & was there for three days crying from the pain. I called Dr. Pollina after being released & asked if he had been in the business for some 40 years why didn't he recognize the shape I was in & immediately send me to the ER? He said he was hoping the antibiotics (I had been on them for the last 3 days) would take effect. I told him I did not feel I owed him all his fee because he could have saved me almost 2 extra days of pain & suffering. At the time he said he was at least entitled to be paid for his time & supplies. I just found out he billed the entire amount to my insurance in addition to my $340 down payment. When contacting him he called me a liar, saying he would never reduce fees. He apparently cannot correctly diagnose the severity of a problem like mine. I would never recommend anyone see him.

I know this doctor: 3 .4 months

My consultation was only for 2 minutes. I was referred to him by my regular dentist for an apiectomy. In two minutes he told me the same thing as my dentist and he sent me back to to get another referral for some other specialist. I mentioned to his staff I already have done an X-ray few days prior to the visit but they still insisted on having another one for the same tooth. For all this I had to pay 75 $ (and also the insurance company was billed)

I felt rushed through my Root Canal procedure, He discovered three roots instead of two, now more than 5 months later, I have severe pain where the procedure was preformed. Initially it was painful right after, so I called, and was told not to Cap the tooth right away- unfortunately with my schedule, I had to cap/crown the tooth... Now I am suffering everyday with pulses of pain, and reactions to hot and cold. When I questioned the pain, I was asked if "I was sure it was "that" tooth". YES I AM SURE because the other teeth on either side have been root-canaled years ago and don't bother me. DO NOT GO HERE. He's not worth the cost, and will try to make you feel bad about the pain.

I walked out in tears. He told me I should be ashamed of myself for coming to see him without enough money and that he couldn't possibly treat me with only $100.00 to put down for a root canal that I needed desperately and was not able to eat on the left side of my mouth. I told him that my husband was out of town and that was all the money I could get a hold of until my husband returned and that my husband said he would square up with him when he got back the following week. My husband's grandmother is dying and he had to drive down and needed to have enough money to get to North Carolina so I didn't have much in my account. The doctor said I should come back when I had more money! That's the kindness flowing from this man! I'm sure I'll be receiving a bill for him looking at my tooth and yet no service was performed other than making me feel that I was horrible for being broke and needing help.

No one likes having to get a root canal but when you go to Dr. Pollina you realize it's really not that bad at all. I've had root canals in the past take hours and require multiple trips, but Dr. Pollina does the job quickly and efficiently. His office is very relaxing and the girls that work there are very sweet. Dr. Pollina even called me the evening of my treatment to check-up on me and make sure everything was alright -- now that's a Doctor that cares about his patients!

Everyone hears the horror stories about root canals. All those stories had me fearing to get a root canal. My dentist told me I had to have it done because I had an abcessed tooth. I must say to all who need a root canal - HAVE NO FEAR! It is NOT painful at all. Dr. Pollina did a great job on my tooth and made me feel very comfortable, he was constantly checking to see how I was doing. His work is very professional and very clean. I would recommend Dr. Pollina to whoever is seeking comfort in getting a root canal. There is no pain since you are so numb. I only felt a slight sting when he numbed me with a needle. The rest was a piece of cake- The only part that is a little annoying is having to keep your mouth open for about an hour. I promise you that if you need a root canal - do not be scard - go straight to Dr. Pollina's office if you want professional, clean, and cost-effective work done on your teeth.
