Warning. 30 years later, dentists are still telling me I was screwed by Dr. Ashley, because he shaved my teeth in order to get the braces right. The enamel is gone now and decay is setting in. Worst part is, I went to him for TMJ/jaw healing, and he talked me into braces for cosmetic reasons, totally forgetting about my TMJ, which became worse after he moved all my teeth around. Stay away. Can't believe he is still in business. Wish I could sue him an get my money back, but more than anything I wish I could go back in time and get my enamel back.

My Experience: Braces

Duration: don't recall

Where do I begin? Hands down, this orhodontist should NOT be allowed to practice dentistry. He was to put top and bottom braces on my mouth, but I halted treatment with him after he did my lower braces(lowers). Why did I stop? From Day 1, he called me names: Called me "Bucky" numerous times, and said that I was unattractive from below my nose to my chin. He said, "You would be attractive if you got your mouth done, but right now, everything below your nose looks unattractive." He did this in the privacy of his office, so no one would overhear him. Dr. Ashley owes me over $5,000-money that I prepaid to have my entire mouth fitted for braces. He refuses to refund me, as he claims that because I was in his care, EVEN though I did not have the entire procedure completed(my top braces were never put on), that he is to keep the remaining amount owed to me. I still have the bonded retainer wire of his on my bottom teeth, as I refuse to allow his staff to remove it, until my money is refunded. Dr. Ashley has little to no bedside manner, and was rough and rude, when he worked on my teeth. His facilities are outdated and he won't even invest in cutting-edge products for his practice to better serve his patients.

I had a series of work done by dr. Ashley. It was done very unprofessionally and through the series of appointments I found out about his inability to focus into the patients' mouth and had to be constantly coached by his assistant. His eye sight problems and constant interruptions to make real estate deals while working on patients made for extremely long visits and the results were terrible. Unfortunately he was unable to see what he had done even though others kept telling him. In my opinion his office should be closed and he should focus on his other hobbies.

I visited Dr. Ashley because he was listed in a cosmetic dentist association and I saw some good reviews. I wish I could go back in time and not set foot in his office. This office is using outdated equipment and they do not follow proper health codes. I was sick for weeks after visiting his office. This doctor has a severe eye sight problem and is having difficulty performing normal dental tasks. He drilled into the wrong tooth since he was not able to focus on the correct area of the mouth and only stopped after an inetrvention. I subsequently ran into other patients who had a similar experience and we are all wondering about the good reviews - are they for real? Please be careful in choosing your dentist.

I will second the other review which noted that Dr. Ashley spends most of the time on the phone when he is supposed to be working on your teeth. Last time he said, "This is my banker, very important." Further, he did such poor work on my crowns that I had to pay someone else to have them redone. After he was finished there was a blood line on the upper front crown, and a gap between my top and bottom teeth. To add salt to the wound, he is so rough during treatment that it is terrifying. This is the first rating I have ever done of any professional. So please beware if you are looking for a dentist, and avoid Dr. Ashley.

Like the first review said, why bother with Dr. Ashley. He's too busy most of the time doing some kind of real estate deal on the phone, you have to wonder why the girls even bother with having him around since they do all the work anyway (which i must say is excellent work). Overall, my treatment was worth the expensive price tag, and i am mostly satisfied. Only one compliant though: the one time that Dr. Ashley did work on my teeth, he did some shaping, and i believe he grinded too deep and now my tooth has a painfull area. I have to get a second option before i know if that is exactly why it is hurts there now.

This is one of the biggest dental office I have seen so far, but don't get impressed, the facilities are antique. Although the office have friendly staffs, I don't like the way they touch the walls and door with their gloves on, then back into my mouth. For a pricey cost, Dr. Ashley will seldom work on your teeth. There were 2 assistants who worked on my teeth from the start until the end of my treatment. I'd say they did a great job fixing my teeth. They can almost do everything what the doctor can do, from putting the brackets on my teeth, adjusting and designing the wires; one assistant in another room even filled the hole in my tooth, so why did I even pay the doctor? The assistants were even the ones to remove my braces while the doctor comes to check if they did a great job. Although I find the assistants to be very skilled, I feel like I didn't get my money's worth since I have seen the doctor for only a few times. I also didn't like the way I was kept waiting most of the time for almost an hour just because the doctor was stuck on the phone. I like Dr. Wong on the other hand, she's very professional. Always on time, caring and hard-working. If you have savings to spend on your teeth, go spend it somewhere else....
