Extremely unprofessional. Caused me to have to wait for a referral because Dr. Block did not fill out the first referral properly. The office has horrible communication practices, whether it be verbal or electronic. The office was supposed to email a copy of the updated referral to me, but never did. After waiting 1.5 months until an appointment I was supposed to have, I called the office and the woman I spoke with was extremely cold and unapologetic about not sending the referral and abruptly said, "I don't see you in our system," then hung up. Dr. Block's office caused me to have to wait months for dental care because of her lack of professionalism.

I just had my first visit with Dr. Block. Although it's great that she does the work herself, her customer service is horrible. After her assistant took my x-rays, I met the Dr. Then she dissappeared! She had me sitting in her chair for 30 minutes. This is unacceptable. After she completed my cleaning, she told me that I had a couple of cavities and didn't tell me that I should make a follow-up appointment.

Before I went to Dr. BLock, I had fear of going to the dentist. Her staff was very considerate. THey made sure my insurance was ok before I came in. THe entire atmosphere was relaxing. I needed much work because I had not gone in a long time. All the work was painless. I was was pleased. My mouth has never felt better.

I've been going to Dr. Block for years, and she's always done a great job taking care of my teeth!

Very nice. Friendly dentist. Does most of the routine cleaning herself, which is unique in my experience. Must make appts ~5mo in advance, which must be a testament to her popularity. Facilities need a little more routine maintenance (thin layers of dust in areas of Op Rooms). Not sure if she's taking good care of my one tooth, though - some minor ongoing sensitivity. Have to wait another few months before can revisit, due to HMO. Some staff are helpful; some are not. Never receive return phone calls when leave voicemails.

She has the worst chair-side manner I have ever experienced. When she walked in the room she never introduced herself or asked my name. (Isn't that a common courtesy when you meet anyone for the first time?) It took me a while to figure out that she was the dentist and not the dental hygenist. She spoke to me as if she were reading off of a list she was required to tell patients rather than catering it to me. Also she failed to mention a number of things that every other dentist I have visited points off immediately (I never had braces so they inquire about my interest in treatment, my bottom gum lines are receeding (thanks to the genes) and every other dentist has warned me about the need for future treatment.) Her equipment was extremely out of date and I spent so little time in the chair, there is no way that my teeth were thoroughly cleaned! It was the most easy and quick dental experience I have had but I feel that was due to the fact that she did an shabby job. Even my co-workers were suprised at how quickly I returned. I will be switching my primary dental care person after this experience.

Dr. Nancy Block (100 E. Walton) is very unethical in her profession. She does not care about the quality of care that her patients should be receiving. Most of the instruments that she uses are broken and she has no shame when she mentions it to patients. She thinks it is funny. Her rooms are falling apart. You would never expect this, since her office is next to Michigan Avenue! She has three rooms and has a patient in each every hour. She races from one room to the next, not carefully treating each patient. If you are an HMO patient, expect to wait 45 minutes to an hour in the waiting room. She makes the least amount of money from HMO patients, so she does not care how long she makes them wait or if they leave. Yes, she appears charismatic and caring but the poor dental work she provides and the deplorable conditions in which she keeps the rooms for her patients, speak volumes of her as an unethical dentist. P.S. I wanted to rate this dental facility with a "1" (poor), but this website would not allow me to, claiming that "'poor facilities' are never 'extremely expensive''.

It is challenging to find a good dentist, however, dr. block is very laid back, easy to talk to, and calming. her facilities need to be updated, and her staff need to be a little nicer, but, over all, a very good place to get your teeth worked on!

Dr. Block demonstrated kindness, care and was very sensitive to my pain fears. With a gentle touch and kind words the procedure was over and painless. I will defiantly return for additional dental work.
