Dr. Kania has been my dentist for year. She’s truthful, fast and smart. She will give a treatment plan and see it to the end.

I recently went there to have an examination because I knew that I needed some work done on my teeth. I was the first person there therefore my name was top on the list, but when the doors were open the receptionist, for lack of a better word, attended to a woman that she knew and her children before seeing me. That annoyed me a little but it was nothing in comparison to what Id experience next. The receptionist, not Matte, was extremely unprofessional and rude. She was constantly yelling and swearing to customers. I am not deaf nor do I feel it appropriate for someone to speak to me in that manner. I am a college student majoring in Spanish Business and Translation and I have learned from my academic experience and from COMMON SENSE that the receptionist is at times the most important asset to any business. That person determines how the clients judge the business and this process only takes a few seconds. From the attitude and demeanor of your receptionist I did not feel comfortable or welcomed at the clinic. Being a dental clinic, your main goal should be making the patient feel at ease because going there alone can be a bit nerve wrecking. When it was 11am, I was told by the receptionist to go to Room #2. I was not told where it was located; I basically just read the signs until I found it. This bothered me because it makes me think about older people who may have a harder time seeing. Will your receptionist just yell out ROOM TWO!!! to my mother or grandmother God forbid they ever step foot inside that clinic? I was told to sit in the chair where I was left for more than thirty minutes. The receptionist carried on a conversation with the patient that was her friend and completely ignored me. When she finaly came into the room she asked me where it hurt and I specifically showed her BOTH sides of my mouth. When she left and returned she asked me again where it hurt!!! The dentist finally arrived and the receptionist explained to her what everyone was complaining about. Since I was first on the list I assumed Id be treated first but that was not the case. The dentist spent about ten minutes explaining to the receptionist that something was wrong with her car. Later she started complaining about another patient that was in another exam room. The receptionist took X-rays of my teeth and I assume that the dentist looked at them. When she entered the room, I was not greeted or smiled at, rather accused. She asked me where was I having pain and I told her on both sides of my mouth. She responded, Well we told you to get those wisdom teeth extracted three years! I was in utter disbelief. First of all, I was NEVER told to get my wisdom teeth extracted three years. Three years ago when I was a patient I was just told that I had many cavities and gingivitis. I was never advised to receive any further care. I was never explained preventative care. So when the dentist used an accusatory tone with me I was really upset. I carefully explained to her that I was never told that my wisdom teeth needed to be removed, I also pointed out to her that my wisdom teeth were NOT giving me any problems, and that I was in fact having pain in another area. She examined my mouth for about two seconds and told me that I had cavities and tartar build up and then she exited the room stating that shed return. She never did. The receptionist came to me and told me that it would cost $155 to fill in each cavity and I agreed to have two filled in for a total of $310. As I sat there and thought about all of the horrible, unprofessional service that I ihad just received I quickly came to my sensees. There was no way that I was about to allow a dentist, who seems to have little respect for patients and PAYING customers, perform any kind of work on my mouth. I also am 100% sure that the dentist has an addiction problem which is another reason that she will never perform job on me. I left the exam room, paid for the examination and left. On the way out Matte, the only person that seems to have any sense, treated me very nicely. She allowed me to take my X-rays even though the dentist was telling me that I couldnt. the dentist is completely unprofessional, rude and nasty. Money is never a problem for me when it pertains to my health. I would gladly pay TWICE as much if only the service had been acceptable. I will never spend a dime in Infant Jesus. Im not sure if this letter will even be taken seriously, but I really hope that it will be. I would just like for you to remember that the receptionist is the first person that a patient/customer has any contact with and the ENTIRE establishment is judged by that one person. She should be warm, friendly, and welcoming. The dentist should work on her attitude, manners, and professionalism. I think that it is important for the entire clinic to educate people about preventative care. I hope that this letter helps to improve this establishment, but unfortunately I will never know because I will never step foot inside those doors again.
