I have been a patient with Dr David McWhinnie for over 10 years. With my every visit always admire his work very much, a lot of professionalism, attentiveness to patients, always ready to give professional advice, accurate and provides a prompt service. Makes me feel very comfortable during my visit -like warm atmosphere in the office and helpful staff. I strongly recommend this dentist if you need to get professional care!

Dr. McWhinnie was originally my husband's dentist, over 20 years ago. My husband thought that he was so good and had such a nice personality, that when my children were born, he was the only dentist that we would consider. My one daughter is now 10, the other is 8, and he is as kind with children as he is with adults. We have had to call for emergency appointments, and he ALWAYS makes room for us. I would recommend him without hesitation.

About Front Desk: The front desk staff are very helpful and courteous. They routinely help with insurance, and have helped me get hassel-free emergency appointments.

About Hygienist: The team who works with Dr. McWhinnie are all very nice and very knowledgeable. They show my children the best way to brush and floss and are always very gentle when cleaning their teeth. My kids actually enjoy going to the dentist...and you don't get a better recommendation than that!

My kids and I see Dr. McWhinnie every six months. We really like the office and the staff, and Dr. McWhinnie himself is a gem. I feel like he maintains the highest standard of practice in terms of equipment and procedures. He works well with his staff. And he is knowledgeable about other dentists in the area, enabling him to link you to other dental professionals that may be needed. He is also very good with one of my kids, who has special needs.

About Front Desk: Front desk staff are wonderful. Lately one of my kids asked for her "treasure box" after visiting the dentist, and I don't know how they managed, but they did. Careful about scheduling and warm and welcoming to patients...what more could you want?

About Hygienist: Our hygienist is extremely professional. She really knows what she is doing, and works extremely well with Dr. McWhinnie. We even get a goodie bag including a new toothbrush!

Dr. McWhinnie is very knowledgable of his field and has very good bedside manner! Highly recommended!

Dr. McWhinnie is like a reliable auto mechanic. Other dentists try to sell you procedures you don't really need. Dr. McWhinnie does only what is necessary to keep your teeth and gums healthy. On top of that, he's about the friendliest guy I know.

They were good for a few years.The last time they ran thru a charge without finding out if insurance would cover. I was stuck with the bill. So be carefull to ask if the service is covered first

Wow. For 50 years, I have HATED going to the dentist. Going every six months because ~ well heck, my teeth are important! I had gotten an NTI device (http://www.caesyonline.com/dhg/viewarticle.php?article_id=161) at my prior dentist; wasn't happy with him for a number of reasons. Googled NTI device, shopping ... and landed at Smiles of Skokei ~ getting my NTI device for less than half what I'd paid several years earlier AND THE BEST, LOVING, ATTENTIVE, ASSURING dental care imaginable. Appears state-of-the-art, in terms of technology and know-how. Thank you Dr. McWhinnie, Heidi, Lorraine, Mariya, and Irina! (I come from Libertyville; it's Way Worth it.)

About Hygienist: I swear to God, getting my teeth cleaned by Heidi is as good as getting a massage! (and I LOVE those!)

Went to Dr. McWhinnie for teeth cleaning and check-up after my sister recommended him. It's apparent that he cares about his patients. He advised me on how I could improve my oral hygene with a genuine smile. My entire family sees him now. I highly recommend him.

David McWhinnie was a horrible dentist. He was very uncaring and let water spill all over my shirt and just left it there as he was working in my mouth. He seemed distracted and wasn't focused on me. He also seemed like he was rushing. He just jammed tools in my mouth and didn't pay attention to me as I screamed out in pain.

Great chair-side manner. Makes it a point to explain everything so as to keep your anxiety low. Also reacts quickly to patients body movement or sounds to keep pain at a minimum. A great experience!
