Dr. Shrums staff is very nice! I love the ladies that work for him! The doctor himself always seems to want to get out of the room as quick as possible. He is very rough while working in the mouth and doesn't really warn you before something is going to sting/hurt. He has been my dentist for over 10 years, however I will be changing soon.

Dr. Shrum is informative and knowledgeable. He is effective and thorough. Staff is very friendly and answered all my questions and worked with me and my crazy schedule.

The staff is Very Friendly, but I feel that Dr. Shrum does not want to answer any questions or explain any treatment that i may need. This makes me very uncomfortable. I need a dentist that will talk to me directly. He has no eye contact with me and barely says "Hello".. His silence is SCAREY!
About Hygienist: I have a different one each time, and my teeth were cleaned in a big hurry the last 2 times. This girl is very young and immature. i really don't care for COUNTRY MUSIC either. Also smelling CIGARETTES on someone who is cleaning your teeth is NASTY!

Dr. Shrum is your basic Dentist. Office is smallish and nothing fancy. Staff are very kind and helpful. Cost is average. My children had their first dentist exposure here and have been very successful. Although I do not think they want to do much beyond basic with children.
I would recommend Dr. Shrum if you do not have any major dental issues and want to go every 6 mo for check-ups etc. No long waits, personable atmosphere.

If you have an evening appointment, they rush you through as quick as possible so they can get out of there. Also, he found 2 cavities on my son's teeth and referred us to a pediatric dentist who found 4 MORE! And the worst of the cavities were not the ones found by Dr. Shrum. One other reason we no longer see Dr. Shrum is they only do composite fillings, which our insurance has less coverage for, and which are not as strong for back teeth--the one they gave me is already gone.
About Hygienist: Hygienists were friendly and kind, some more than others, especially the times when I brought my 3 year old son in for appointments and had my other two little ones with me, certainly not the ideal situation for them.
