My family - seven of us - have been going to Doc Melton since first moving to Kansas City. The kids have all grown up seeing him at least twice each year for regular cleanings and the odd broken tooth or other problems. Billings, treatments, and appointments are all handled professionally. Never have to wait longs periods of time for an appointment. They will even call when there is a cancelation and try to work us in. One of the best dentist I have ever dealt with.

Dr. Melton is a great dentist. He has a small but very friendly office. He is patient and explains everything (procedures and billing issues) in as much detail as you want. I have had dentists in the past where the office staff would provide billing details ony if you asked very direct questions. "Why is my bill so high?" or "It seems like I'm paying a lot for this." would only get very generic answers. Dr. Melton was the first to explain in detail how billing works with insurance plans and how to get the best out of my coverage. He even helped out with selecting plans during my open enrollment periods.
My only problem with Dr. Melton is with insurance coverage. He does not accept all plans. However, he will work with you to create a lower cost treatment plan and to fill out forms for PPO insurance plans he does not work directly with. I would remain with him except I have to switch to a DMO plan this year that he does not accept and my wife wants to find a dentist who uses gas or sedation. If cost is a concern but you want top quality care and someone who will be straight forward with you, Dr. Melton is your guy.
