Dr. Buttar seems to be a jack of all trades, master of none. He is supposedly a dentist, orthodontist, and oral surgeon. I have had a few decent cleanings there, but approximately 3 years ago during a cleaning, Dr. Buttar told me I would need my wisdom teeth taken out. My insurance was going to expire at the end of the month, so he asked me if I could come back later that day to have them removed. I went back that afternoon for the procedure. All four of my wisdom teeth were impacted, and as any (good) dentist will tell you, when you have four impacted wisdom teeth coming in sideways, you need to be anesthetized and have an oral surgeon do the procedure. Instead, Dr. Buttar gave me Novacaine and drilled into the bone to dig out the impacted teeth. I not only felt pain and pressure from the procedure, but I had to smell it and hear it as well. Because of the difficulty of removing the teeth, I only had two removed. Afterwards, I wasn't given antibiotics (as is standard with wisdom teeth extraction) to prevent infection. I (not surprisingly) developed an infection on the side the teeth were removed. My mouth was so swollen I could barely open it wide enough to eat, and I got a black eye from the bruising.

I went to Dr. Buttar's dental office from time to time during 2008-2010 (till I moved to a different city), mostly for minor treatments, such as regular cleanings and composite fillings. I saw, probably three different doctors in his office, including Dr. Buttar himself, and they did reasonable jobs. They generally consult with the cost of treatments very kindly.
