I had to wait 3 hours and was finally rudely told to wait even more. I had to leave and re-schedule. HORRIBLE experience.

I Have had multiple visits to A Center for Dental Excellence and have never had an issue. Although the waiting room may seem a bit crowded when you first walk in, they are a multi-specialty office so not all patients are seeing one doctor. I actually like this better because you can get everything done in one place and it cuts down on wait times. Dr. Venterina and Dr. Lugo worked together to provide me with a treatment plan as well as daily recommendations to keep my mouth healthy. All around genuine experience.

I had a root canal tooth done by A Center for Dental Excellence located at 8510 Bay t6 Street, Brooklyn, New York 11214 (718) 232-8289. After I had the root canal I went back to the dentist and told her the tooth was making me very sick and it was painful and I needed the root canal to be retreated, she refuse to do it and just gave me antibiotics. The tooth got worse and needed to be pulled by a General Surgeon Kings Highway Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery located 1610 East 1st Street, Brooklyn, NY 781-576-6999
I also got a infection in my ear from the tooth (No 10) and had to see Shawn C Ciecko MD FACS 1 teleport Drive Suite 200. Staten Island, New York 10314 718-370-0072. Plus a possible infection went to my heart and I am being treated bya heart doctor office for a possible heart infection his address 1366 Victory Blvd #B Staten Island, New York (718) 442-8351/ I want to file a formal complaint against Dr Valerie Venterina DDS and Center for Dental Excellence. I would not recomend this dentist. Over priced and if you have not good paying insurance, they will put a different person on your time and your appointment will be rescedule for other day.

Dr. Venterina has been my dentist for 10 years. I must say she is wonderful, intelligent and a well rounded doctor. I always feel at ease when in her office. She makes me feel like I am apart of her family and not to mention my teeth look amazing highly recommend this office.

I should have wrote this review about a year ago when I went to the Staten Island location for the first and last time. I was looking for a new dentist, and after doing some research, unfortunately, I decided to give this place a try.
I was under the impression that I would be getting a cleaning and X-ray in the same visit because that's how my trips to the dentist have always been. After the front desk staff called to reschedule me two different times, I waited in the office over 90 min for Venterina and her nasty attitude to merely glance at my teeth for about a minute before telling me to follow her to the front desk to schedule me for the hygienist.
After she stopped at the desk, she turned around and gave me a really dirty look. This woman was a nasty little shrew who was rude and short with me when I was sitting in the chair asking her questions, and when she turned around and looked at me like I had three heads. I expected a minimal level of politeness, especially as a new customer.
I called my insurance company to inform them I wasn't happy with the service in order to still be covered for a cleaning at another place. I would never consider giving this woman my business ever again unless my teeth were rotting.

My occupation is a practice mgr, so i know how a office should be run... so I just left the office and waited over an hour. I watched at least 10 people go in and I just sat there. The receptionist did not inform me at any time that they were running late. Frankly,they don't care. It seems to be a money making machine. Asking me to have gum surgery to widen the space between my teeth for cleaning and they really push the deep cleaning. I have had the best dentists and they always told me ow great my gums are..
Anything for money! Very disappointed.

I thought I was getting dr. Venterina but I had dr luga instead. I'm not sure if she's new or a student under dr.venterina but after my first filling, my tooth/gum area has been very itchy and irritated, I told dr luga maybe it's because the filling was made too close to my other tooth which caused it to jam together, but she said it was new so it will settle.. This was about 1 and a half week after my first visit. That same day, I got more fillings done that I didn't know I needed because it didnt bother me at all.But i guess I did?after the new filling started , my tooth become sensitive to biting and chewing and only on one spot of the 2 or 3 that she did. I had no pain or irritation or sensitivity before but now I'm so irritated, bothered by the pitch/shock I keep getting in that area.. And in addition, 2 small pieces of the new filling has chipped off already.. In my option, my own tooth was over drilled causing the pitch/shock feeling..
Ill be calling them again in a week or 2 if the irritation isn't going away..
