I recently moved to Queens and decided I should get my annual exam. I happened to find Dr. Molinsky's office one Shabbos when walking to shul. I stopped in to make an appointment. When I went back on Tuesday for my appointment, my gut told me to leave when I walked into the office. A woman who I guess was the office manager was yelling on the phone. It made me tense. The X-rays and exam were uneventful, except that at the end of the exam, the dentist told me I should seriously consider have my teeth bonded. I was floored. Many times I have been complimented on my smile. I should have trusted my gut the first time. I'll never go back.

I know this doctor: One visit

Pleasant waiting room, and good chairside manner. However, I felt outrageously overcharged. WARNING! Request a treatment plan in writing, with the cost of each procedure. Then schedule a consultation with another dentist to compare treatment plans and costs. The consultation elsewhere is worth your trouble and expense in order to have a choice.

About Front Desk: The front desk staff is competent, and has a pleasant manner to match the pleasant surroundings. The office manager or another person, however, should be part of the treatment team in the sense of advising patents of the cost of each procedure, or each phase of the treatment plan.

About Hygienist: I chose to 'audition' Dr Danny Joseph, the periodontist who seems to share Dr. Molinsky's suite. My recommendation is this: STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN!! His overbearing manner is unacceptable (several times he practically shouted at me, "I can't FORCE you to such-and-such." I did not argue because I preferred to let the emotional temperature of the room cool. After doing the examination, Dr Joseph announced that all the teeth in one quadrant of my mouth were loose. This was very upsetting to me because taking good care of my gum health has been important to me. After auditioning Dr Joseph, I immediately scheduled a visit with the periodontist I'd been seeing without fail every three months. I wanted an explanation of the surprising loose teeth verdict. He checked and found NO loose teeth. Wanting to be surer, I got second and third opinions from a dentist and a periodontist, respectively, in order to confirm Dr Joseph's finding. The results were unanimous: No loose teeth. Note: the only reason I decided to audition Dr. Joseph was because I was considering a one-stop-shopping approach to my oral care, simply for the sake of convenience, since my periodontist for the past 12 years is quite far from where I live. I agreed to Dr. Joseph cleaning the aforementioned loose-teeth quadrant, since I was already in the chair. I neglected to ask beforehand for the cost of the examination, of the x-rays, and the cleaning. I regretted it because I left with a verifyably wrong diagnosis, and eight hundred dollars poorer, which is what I the audition cost me. Yes, I was charged $8OO for the visit. After three second opinions about the supposedly loose teeth, I wondered whether this periodontist, Dr Joseph, is (a) incompetent, (b) delusional, or (c) a crook. Dr. Molinsky, if you just read or have already heard about my review here, my take-home message is this: your officemate, Danny Joseph, could be hurting the image of your practice. Nora Weinerth

I know this doctor: I began treatment with him sight unseen because I wanted a dentist closeby in Forest Hills. That was a year or so ago.

We live abroad and come once a year to do several treatments, amongst them dental. We found Dr. Molinsky through recommendations of our pediatric dentist. This is ALL ABOUT MONEY....I am unsure we truly need all these treatments, but I've gone along since we don't really know anyone else. My husband is furious about the money we are spending on this dentist. I would advice against going here. The quality is great, but it comes at a great price.

About Front Desk: staff is very welcoming and warm, but the office manager is pushy and although we like her too, she doesn't seem to understand when she has overstepped our boundaries....

About Hygienist: Top hygenist.

My Experience: Deep Cleaning

Duration: over several visits
