Dr. Bloom is gentle and pleasant, but when he recommended a gold filling, he gave me no indication that it would cost upwards of $3,000 and that my insurance would not cover it. Unacceptable.

Dr. Bloom was an excellent dentist. He did a great job of cleaning. I never worried that he would recommend unnecessary procedures. He was cooperative. I never had a cavity, due to his preventive dentistry. I still have all the teeth. And he never overcharged. Highly recommended.

About Hygienist: Dr. Bloom did his own cleanings, there was no hygienist.

Dr. Bloom is gentle, which counts for a lot. He was willing to use nitrous oxide for teeth cleaning, which I requested because of high anxiety/pain sensitivity. Still, he acted like this was a pretty weird thing to request, and I was billed extra, and always wondered why it could not be covered by my insurance. Finally, I was disappointed by his treatment of a cracked filling. He recommended a gold filling as a replacement, which cost me over $2,000 out of pocket! He gave me NO warning as to the expense. I was stunned, since I was used to paying $50 or so out of pocket per visit. Furthermore, the filling felt "weird" and metallic for years after it was done. I also had a feeling over the years that Dr. Bloom's office was not keeping up with technological advances in dentistry. Also, the few times I had a dental emergency, he was never available for a next-day appointment. So all in all, I am ambivalent and have finally decided to look for another dentist.

I went to Dr. Bloom as a walk-in. I had an infection and I didn't know how to handle it and I was new to the area. I felt so safe and secure with him. He listened to me intently and responded accordingly. Dr. Bloom made me feel comfortable immediately. I referred my office associates to him. And soon, there was a delegation of people who work with me who became his patient. All of them thanked ME profusely. Some had not been to the dentist for years because they had a fear of dentists. I'm never leaving him!!

Dr. Bloom is thorough and my teeth sparkle after one of his cleanings. I went to my family dentist for 21 years and Dr. Bloom reminds me of our family dentist. Honest, no frills, pleasant. I tried other NYC dentists before Dr. Bloom and was disppointed. They were flashy and talked too much and were expensive. More importantly, their service was half as good as Dr. Blooms.

Dr. Bloom was extremely gentle in filling several of my hard to reach teeth. The feelings are not noticeable and have been a complete success.
