Dr Gurin asks for payment up front and balance bills even though he is an in network provider for us. He terminated my husband mid treatment because he is mad that the insurance did not pay what he wants and we demanded the overage back that was past his contracted rate. So incredibly unprofessional after many years being his patient. We have filed a complaint with MetLife.

Great dentist, his training in other areas gives him a better perspective on the treatment, and how it will suit the patient (I'm somewhat sensitive to meds used in local anesthesia, and Dr.Gurin is always very accommodating in using just the right amount for me). He put a few crowns -- including the cover for implant -- and several fillings in and has referred me to other specialists when necessary (implant, orthodontics). I'm extremely happy about both his work and his referrals, and I always recommend him to my friends.

Dr. Gurin is a compassionate and highly experienced dentist with a great personality. His training in other medical areas gives him the ability to understand and treat dental patients in a such a way that all medical conditions that may exist are accounted for when he suggests dental proceedures. Dr. Gurin is a "no nonsense" professional who quickly and efficiently determines what the patients needs and then performs the work that is required, without delay. Dr. gurin's staff are very kind and helpful, and very professional, too. I used to hate going to the dentist and tended to wait longer than I should to get proper treatment but with Dr. Gurin as my dentist I have changed my view and now go to him immediately when a problem arises.

Gurin studied medicine in Russia and dentistry in the USA. He is methodical, but VERY slow, requiring many visits to accomplish any procedure. He is pleasant, friendly, chatty, and very careful. His office is well run, so I never had to wait more than just a few minutes, and often not at all.
