The ease of scheduling an appointment was quick and I was seen within a few days. The wait time was minimal and my cleaning was done really well. i dont have insurance and doctor worked with me on the costs. I recommend this place. If you speak to the doctor she is very willing to work with you if you don't have insurance and can't afford certain procedures that you need done.

Dr. Rafya Sandhu made the following unsolicited statements directed towards and in front of our 11 year old daughter on her first visit for x-rays and cleaning. As you read these, you will understand why our daughter was shocked, extremely upset, and cried for quite some time. We politely brought to Dr. Sandhu's attention that our daughter got scared by Dr. Sandhu's statements, and in future to discuss such issues separately with us, however, Dr. Sandhu did not feel any need to acknowledge our concern, and instead directed us to go to another practice. She stated that "this is how I talk to my patients and run my practice, and I will not change for anyone. If you don't like it, you can go to another dentist." Statements made by Dr. Sandhu while our daughter sat in the dentist chair getting a cleaning: "Her cross bite is alarming. She is going to have trouble eating because her teeth are not aligned. I can bet my life that she will need surgery if something isn't changed. The operation will be painful. This is going to keep getting worse and worse. How does she eat though? She may be managing but the cross bite will give her trouble. This underbite and cross bite will affect her smile. She is a girl so she has to pay attention to these things." When we tried to collectively discuss this in the waiting room, she yelled that our child was the first ever to cry, that we were terrible parents, she felt sorry for our daughter, and then attempted to prod our daughter (who was still crying from what Dr. Sandhu had said earlier) to say that Dr. Sandhu was not mean to her, to which our daughter responded through her tears that "you were not mean to me. I was scared by what you said." Of course none of us had accused Dr. Sandhu of being mean and her inexplicable hysteria at this point made it impossible to engage in a mature exchange. We are still trying to wrap our head around what happened. However, we feel compelled to write this while it's still fresh so other unsuspecting parents, and most importantly kids are not subject to unnecessarily harsh statements.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of getting my root canal procedure done with Westbury Smile Center in Westbury, NY in January 2012. After the procedure I went to the receptionist (Karla – who has since been fired) and asked her what my co-pay was. She told me that she had to call my insurance company to find out, so she said I will find out and let you know. In April I received a call on April 5th that I had a balance due of $398 dollars. I gave them my credit card over the phone and had them charge $398. Couple of days later I received the explanation of benefits from my insurance company and on that it clearly said that the Patients responsibility was 293. Westbury Smile Center overcharged me by $105. I called them up and asked them to explain this and the new receptionist who does billing too, told me that it was told to you that your co-pay will be $400. I faxed over the explanation of benefits on April 9th however she was adamant that what I was charged was correct. I then called my insurance company and conferenced in the doctor’s office so that they could talk, however she kept on saying that the amount charged is correct. Later the doctor’s office said that they had used the wrong billing code and will correct it and resubmit to the insurance company. They had said this on May 10th, however nothing new has been submitted to the insurance company. On June 26th, 2012 I went to the office in person to speak to the Dentist – Dr. Rafya Sandhu and she flat out refused to talk to me. Not only that but she was extremely rude and said if you don’t leave I will call 911. I only wanted to discuss the situation with her as I had hit a brick wall talking to her staff. I went there thinking that she will listen to me in a professional manner as she is educated and doctor. But her attitude was worse than that of her receptionist. Today, June 27, 2012 – I still don’t have a resolution. I have been overcharged by $105.

We all know finding a great dentist is hard to come by...but one that actually cares about people and the fact that teeth and a nice smile are important to everyone regardless of their socio-economic class, race, gender, religion,...you get my point...In addition, the Dentistry profession has literally become so marginalized due to health-care reform and skyrocketing insurance premiums that in all seriousness, it's almost become necessary to go to a hospital for dental care. Well, fear no more, Dr Rafya Sandhu is a diamond in a profession where theres lots of stones.

She was very nice to me. She sang the entire spongebob squarepants theme song to me. She even knew all the characters names. I am 12. I am no longer afraid of the dentist. I like Rafya.

Coming to Dr. Sandhu was like walking into light after a life in shadows. She is an exceptional dentist. I've had quite a few dentists over the years but none compare to the quality of work by Dr. Sandhu. Not only is she professional, courteous, and dedicated, but more importantly efficient and committed to excellence. The instant you walk in to this office you will know that you'll be treated with the utmost respect, and be given the greatest of care.
