There are dentists, and then there are dentists like Dr. Nil Yucel. She is truly a gem. I have known Dr. Yucel for many years, and I trust her with both my own dental care and my daughter’s. She is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and considerate—but beyond that, she truly knows her craft. If you are simply looking for a quick fix to whatever hurts today, there are plenty of places that can do that. What makes Dr. Yucel different is that she gives you the whole picture and a roadmap. She doesn’t just tell you what needs to be fixed now. She explains what she sees, why it is happening, what may become an issue later, what can be prevented, and how everything fits together. You understand where you are today, where you could be heading, and what you can do about it before small issues become bigger—and more expensive—ones. I’ve had deep cleanings and fillings with her, and she guides both my and my daughter’s treatment plans with this same approach. She considers insurance, helps prioritize what needs to happen and when, and personally follows up after procedures to make sure you are doing well. That is what I value most: I’m not just paying to fix a tooth. I’m getting a thoughtful, preventative strategy for our dental health.

About Front Desk: The front desk team is wonderful—so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful every time I come in. They make everything easy, from scheduling appointments to helping navigate insurance and treatment plans. They are responsive, organized, patient with questions, and always make you feel like they are happy to help. It really matters how you are treated from the moment you walk through the door, and this team gets it right. Warm, professional, accommodating, and just genuinely nice people. They make the whole experience that much better.

About Hygienist: This is also the first dental practice that identifies that I need a periodontal deep cleaning—something that had never been brought to my attention before. The hygienist is absolutely wonderful. She is incredibly thorough and meticulous, but also gentle and reassuring throughout the entire deep cleaning. She takes her time, checks in with me constantly, and explains what she is doing and why. What I appreciate most is that the care doesn’t stop with the procedure. She helps me understand what is happening with my gums, the areas that need attention, and what I can do at home to help prevent further periodontal issues. It really reinforces what I appreciate about this entire practice: they don’t just address what is obvious today. They look deeper, identify issues that could become bigger problems, and give you a plan for protecting your dental health going forward. I feel incredibly well cared for and very grateful that this was finally caught and addressed.

Dr Yucel is a great dentist. She did a painless removal of my old sliver fillings and replaced them with a modern composite. Kim the hygenist is great too for cleanings. Feeling well card for in a modern up to date office.

I had my teeth cleaned regularly for 3 years. The staff were always pleasant and remembered me. I sometimes had to wait for the dentist but rarely for more than a few minutes. They were very flexible about appointments. Dr. Yucel herself is both thorough and friendly, although she did push me to try Invislign every time I visited.

About Hygienist: The original hygienist I had my first couple of times wasn't good but then I switched to a different one who was excellent and never had a complaint after that.

It is a pleasure to recommend Dr. Nil Yucel as an excellent choice for dental care. I began to see her almost five years ago. Having lived with dental issues for many years, I was very nervous seeing a dentist again as I knew that I had a lot of work that needed to be done. In addition to my 3-month periodontal cleanings, she has done a great job with two crowns and multiple fillings. She is exceptionally qualified, compassionate, thoroughly explains what she is going to do with reasons and takes great care with every procedure. The office has a very nice atmosphere and on every visit to the office, I am welcomed by her charming staff, and made to feel totally at ease. I am more than satisfied with the results and I am sincerely grateful for the professional care Dr. Yucel has provided for me… muge birgen… burlingame, ca

In general, I've never really enjoyed visits to doctors or dentists, but I look forward to my trips to Dr. Yucel's office. The view of San Francisco from the dental chair in the 17th floor is wonderful. You can just relax and watch the city go by while waiting your turn in the chair. Dr. Yucel is an exceptional practitioner—a rare blend of warm and scientific. Whenever I've had treatments involving pain medication, she slowly ramps the anesthetic such that I almost never feel a thing. And if your the type of person who like to understand what's going, she can explain how and why things work, but she can also sympathize with your pain. She's also a stickler for preventive care—a good thing—and she will gently yet firmly recommend a daily dental plan that's going to work for you. More than anything, I feel like Dr. Yucel office offers something really rare in today's fast-paced world: time. And that requires a kind of discipline and patience that I really admire.

I have been intending to submit a review for a long time but wondered what more I could add to already stellar reviews. I skimmed all past reviews and agreed with the glowing feedback. To this, I would like to add that Dr. Yucel is also my best advocate among other dental specialists that she works with. While I have witnessed Dr. Yucel's kindness, respect, and clear explanations numerous times with staff from the dental lab, I will never forget her standing up for me and our agreed-upon treatment plan with the oral surgeon. Dr. Yucel was still kind but so persistent in her advocacy. In addition to this, I would like to add that her regard for you as an individual means that she is willing to take as much time as you need to make up your mind about treatment. Her valuing of you as an individual in her care is one that carries over to all the staff who work in her office. Each of them is valued by the dentist and, therefore, they, too, practice the doctor's values. Finally, as for rare negative reviews, after reading numerous professor reviews--including my own--the overall assessment of Dr. Yucel is EXCEPTIONAL and perfection--though Dr. Yucel is pretty close to perfect in my book--is impossible.
