have had fillings, crowns, root canals, deep cleaning, checkups w/ cleaning. Treatments have all been successful. Pain is minimal. He's "learned" my sensitivities over time and accommodates for them. He regularly consults with the OHSU Dental School if necessary. His secretary doubles as his assistant. She also deals with insurance for me. They are both very professional in their attitude, manner and dealings with me. Conservative? Yes, but I am not debating politics with him. I am after good dental care.

I've been using Dr. Radke for a good 8 years or more, now. Before I met him, I was being skipped. First a regular dentist, then an oral surgeon, then an endodontist, then a periodontist....it was getting old. I posted a message on line, "Isn't there one guy somewhere in Portland who does it all and won't keep sending me out?" A few answers came back and one of the recommendations was Dr. Radke. He does ALMOST everything, when it comes to dental work. And most importantly, he was able to rebuild the part of my jaw that got screwed up from another surgery, install a new implant, and install a new tooth on top of the steel implant. It took some time between each part of the process but in the end, it turned out PERFECT! And I didn't have to skip all over town to different doctors! I've been using him ever since. Probably at least 15-20 visits over the years. Always a professional every time. It's true that some times he doesn't have assistants, other than Mary. But he doesn't need them. He does fine without them and Mary has been assisting him for decades, so she steps in when needed. He's truly amazing. Knows more than any 5 dentists I know. I can't recommend him highly enough. A little spendy. But worth it, for me.

Pros: Intent on being pain free and often succeeds at this. Cons: Root canal happy with no success. Very politically conservative and vocal about it. Condescending about other doctors/health insurance. Absent minded and preachy. Way too expensive, totally unwilling to work within insurance perimeters.

Dr. Radtke and Mary are excellent! I had a tooth reconstruction, not fun thing to go though, but Dr. Radtke provide details about my options and the procedure that help me to become more at ease.

About Hygienist: Mary is very nice, helpful and professional. She makes "a trip to the dentist" a better experience.

He has no hygienists or assistants. It is only he and his wife, and according to him, he does everything from cleaning to extractions and dental implants. But you would never know it from his office. The equipment is so dated, no computers in the exam rooms....kind of weird. And for all that, the fees are the most I've seen in the Portland area. Thanks but no thanks, I've moved on.

About Hygienist: He has none
