I was a patient of Dr. Shiroma for ten years, he is in the habit of performing oral surgery in a non surgical environment with inadequate facilities for the procedures (two of my impacted wisdom teeth were removed without sedation or a face-mask, they shattered and were picked from my jawbone in his office, the visit lasted until the pharmacy had closed, so no pain-killers were available post-surgery).
I have had to have ten of his procedures redone by competent dentists in years since as he failed to adequately remove decay before entombing it in a filling.
He is in the habit of performing unnecessary work on patients with health insurance in order to increase his profits (he is an inexpensive dentist, but the repair cost of his work is high).
As he regularly leaves decay present, his fillings fail and fall out with surprising swiftness.
He also delays necessary work so as to not "give patients a bad experience" while endangering their health.
If you value your health and teeth seek ANYONE else. The cost savings in only temporary, this man has cost me THOUSANDS of dollars in emergency repair work, and his slipshod procedures have left me with a missing molar.
About Hygienist: His hygienists are kind and thorough, you will spend the majority of your time in their care. He allows them to perform non-hygienist procedures like the administration of injections. They apparently have no conscience as they work for a criminal.
